Knottie Name: Manda724
Wedding Date: October 10, 2010
Knot Annie: Tell me about the Knotties on your board that you post on. Have you ever joined them for a GTG?
Manda724: The October 2010 Tri-state Knotties just had a Knottie GTG on January 23 at the famous Plaza Hotel. Knottie Annie was there and we got to tour the Plaza. Then we went to Flute for some drinks. It was great getting to meet everyone.
KA: Describe your wedding
Manda724: Our wedding has a fall theme to it. Our colors are red, black, and white. The flowers are mostly in the fall theme.
Our wedding is interfaith. We are getting married by a rabbi and priest. We are also going to have three memory candles lit for special people who have passed on. My father died when I was 10, my fiance’s mother died a little less than two years ago (she would have been a great mother-in-law and I wish she were still here), and his best friend died in 2005 from a rare kind of cancer.
KA: How have the Knotties on your board helped you plan?
Manda724: The Knotties on the October 2010 board are great. They are always helpful and even if they disagree with how I feel, they never make me feel bad about it. They have mostly helped me out with my DIY stuff and getting my planning bio up on my siggy. They are also always there when I have a problem not related to the wedding.
KA: Favorite bio on the knot and why?
Manda724: Oh there are so many that I like, but lizzonyc and Tara2316 are the ones I seem to look at the most. Liz is always updating hers with new pictures. Tara has some awesome pictures and her flower ideas are very close to how mine are.
KA: What will make your wedding stand out to your guests and where did you find the inspiration?
Manda724: Most of our guests have never been to an interfaith wedding. To tell the truth, neither have we. We are also including a birthday surprise for my grandfather who will be turning 90 three days before the wedding. We are having a photo booth as well. The biggest thing that will stand out to our guests is the order of the day. Our day is going to go like this: cocktail hour first, ceremony second, and finally reception.
KA: What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
Manda724: I am looking forward to having my three best friends around me as I get ready for my big day. It will be the only time I get them all to myself. I also can't wait for my grandfather to walk me down the aisle. And the last thing I really can't wait for is dancing our first dance together at the reception.
