Ways I Could Cut Costs...

1. Instead of a photo booth, we could set up a Polaroid station with a couple instant cameras and have guests use them in our guestbook. I'm still crossing my fingers for the photo booth though!

2. Unlike every other bride on the planet, I'm not a fan of flowers so we'll definitely be saving big in that department. If it were up to me, the only flowers would be in my bouquet! I'd much rather have lots of candle arrangements and maybe some black magic rose petals scattered about.

3. My dream dress is a Monique Lhuillier creation that I saw on a old episode of Platinum Weddings, but considering it costs more than half my budget, I'm gonna have to settle for a replica. My plan is to buy a similar style and then take it to a tailor/seamstress to make it look as close to the original as possible.

4. Since we are getting hitched on Halloween, I can totally take the theme and run with it! I don't want anything cheesy, but even "classy" Halloween decorations are cheaper than wedding ones. Plus, I hate the idea of a fancy, sit down dinner anyways and lots of treats and sweets will be much less expensive and more appropriate. I do want to have tapas of some sort, but I'm thinking mini burgers and fries and grilled cheese/tomato soup snacks. Chic, but cheap!

5. I feel bad taking him up on his offer, but my future brother-in-law said he would DJ and run karaoke at the reception. He's hella fun so I know he'd be an awesome emcee, plus that should save quite a bit.

There are some things I'm not willing to compromise on, but overall I think I can pull this wedding off for under 10K!
