So in between vomiting, we managed to get some of the things rolling for the wedding. So now I have worked out the menu, the cake and the council regulations for getting married in the local park. So things are happening. I need to speak to the DJ, the celebrant and the florist, but I will get to that some time next week.

Meanwhile I am still in the planning stages of getting myself healthy so I need to finish the menus for the next two weeks by tomorrow when I go and get the groceries. I also need to make an appointment to go and see the doctor at some stage soon too. And work out my step down plan for caffine. I think it will be harder to get rid of the ridiclous amounts of caffine I drink than it will be to quit smoking but I plan to get healthy. No more bronchitis, lack of breathing, insomnia and lack of energy. It will happen, it will be hard but it will happen.

Sorting myself out

OK so I called my maid of honour this morning, and she was hungover. So we decided to make it tomorrow, which is just peachy by me. But I did some thinking last night. I have chosen the dress, but I can't wear it unless I find my waist again. So here is what I have come up with.

I have learnt over the years that carbohydrates and my body don't mix well. I am a keen pasta and chip lover, so this presents a problem. I also love my red meat (which is great for me as I have issues with iron). So here's what has transpired. I have decided that now is a great time to lower that carbs thing. I love salads, so that is an advatage. Not so keen on veggies, but I am happy to eat them raw. So this is shaping up to be a do-able thing. This does present a slight problem for the rest of the household though. Mr. Man and Boy-Child both struggle to gain weight so need to be fed alot of carbs in order to maintain a healthy weight. So I have decided that on the nights that they want to have a dinner that is high in carbs, I will have to settle on a salad or steamed veggies. Do-able if I am organised (which I am not) On the upside, Girl-Child has the same problem as me so I can maker her eat what I eat.

Another issue is my addiction problems. I am not addicted to anything illegal which dosen't allow me that motivation. My worst addictions: Nicotine and Caffine. Both very bad for me. So first step, cut back on the caffine. Less coffee and less diet coke = more water. I can deal with that if I do it slowly, so that is what i will do. Mr. Man is very supportive of this so that is a plus. As for the nicotine, Mr. Man and I are both smokers, but he is struggling more than I am to quit smoking (he has a 2 pack a day habit). I have previously quit smoking (for 3 months) even with him still smoking, so I know that I am capable of doing it. my motivation is simple, I need to be at peak health for my children's sake. They need a Mum that can save them if something goes wrong.

So wish me luck in my endevours. I will keep everyone posted on my progress at least once a week. For now I need to go and buy a set of scales, a notebook and go and see my doctor.

Back on track

Well all the wedding plans are now back on track, after my momentary lapse of concentration. I have so far decided to let the bridesmaids choose their own style of dress but with the colour of my choice. It will be a dark blue colour to match the beautiful ocenaic backdrop we will have.

Strangely, (as someone who is not much of a blogger) I find this to be somewhat soothing after a hectic few days of getting the wedding back on track. My next problem, as there is always a next, is the music. I am not so much concerned about the important songs, since Mr. Man and I agree on most. I am more concerned about the party music. Our wedding will be incredibly casual, with the Bride herself trying to find the most casual dress out there.

The problem with music has arisen because Mr. Man's brother-in-law is doing the music. Now he is a ver competant DJ, however I have my reservations about his taste in music. We are a conservative couple who have a very simple taste in music. DJ's taste in music comes from the nightclub scene. This will be fine for later in the night but early in the evening until about 9pm, we will have elderly guests as well as our children at the reception. So I have decided that it is best that I choose every song up until that time. This is a little more time consuming than I had wanted but for the sake of my guests I see it as vital.

I am going out tomorrow with my maid of honour to work through some of the stuff that I have gone over in the last few days, so we can work what she can do. I am hoping that this is going to get easier with her contribution, so wish me luck

ARRRRGH!!!!

So I called my maid of honour today....Back to the start

We got engaged on New Year's, which I figured was plenty of time to organise a wedding so I was like 'No rush'. And as they say time flies when your having fun. Apart from booking the reception venue, I haven't really done anythign else.

Fast forward to today. I called my maid of honour (my best friend) about a completely unrelated matter. So we were chatting away and she says we need to get together and talk about the wedding, and I was like yeah whatever you say. So we organised to meet up this Sunday.

Needless to say I wasn't really all that thoughtful about it. So I got home and something she said had me wondering. She told me that she would need to start planning my hen's night. Oh CRAP!!!!! THe wedding is like 7 months away and I have done pretty much nothing.

Huge freak out. So I get on the reception venue and get menus to look at and start thinking about some sort of playlist. Needless to say that once again my wedding has fallen to the wayside again (I'm easily distracted). Now I really need to get my skates on and use the planning tools on here and work out what the most pressing issues are to get done. So for now, I am off to look at what I started.
