My 99 Year Old Grandmother

My Grandmother turned 99 today. What do you get for a woman of such wisdom and experience? I brought her a future grandson-in-law! Having only seen pictures previously, this was the first time they had met and boy was she excited. Along with everyone else on that side of the fam.
I had always though it funny to hear anyone say something along the lines of "now that we are engaged, you have to meet the family!" In my country-spun upbringing, it was a wild concept that one could properly date and not have met the family long before the engagement. But here I am, introducing my intended to nearly everyone I'm related to post engagement. I didn't intentionally mean for it to be this way (well, at first maybe). As it was, our long distance dating didn't open many opportunities for family mingling. Nor did I want to before I knew he was something of a possibly permanent fixture in my life. It just so happens that the time between that decision and the one to marry him was a bit short (I had insisted on living in the same state first - he didn't wait long after that ...).
So one half the family down, half to go.
