It's one thing to have to sit down and explain 'how are you going to take care of Daddy's Little Girl?'

It is quite another to take the FIL to be out to lunch and discuss; politics; religion; strengths of marriage; weaknesses of marriage; men's shortcomings; women's shortcomings; how to argue fairly; family history; gardening and Indiana Jones...

It is also quite the thing for both of you to walk away saying, 'this was good - we will certainly do this again...'
