Wedding Cakes: Top These Toppers

Modern cake toppers can be hard to find, which is probably why we see so many couples opt to top their cakes with just a small cluster of fresh flowers or nothing at all. Recently though, this hand-sewn bird cake topper from Etsy.com caught my eye…

I love the mini bowtie and veil (complete with diamond "tiara" and "ring" on the wing!), and paper tails because it has that vintage style yet takes such a modern departure from the generic bride and groom cake topper.
For those of you still in search of the perfect cake topper, you may find Etsy.com a good resource (they're a website that promotes independent artists and hand-made goods).
