Wedding Details: Top Dog

Posted Tuesday, August 12, 2008 10:20 AM

From man's best friend to best man, dogs are becoming an important part of weddings these days. Since most pets are considered part of the family, it only makes perfect sense to include them in the most important day of your life. Check out some of our favorite pooches from our Real Weddings.

Joseph and Lallo's two dogs, Gus and Olivia, walked down the aisle with the wedding party at their Sonoma nuptials. Gus wore a silver collar with a purple tie and Olivia donned a silver collar with purple and lavender flowers. See more details from Joseph and Lallo's lavender-themed wedding. (top left)

Lisa and Jerry dressed their little Yorkshire Terrier in a custom-made black tuxedo with a bow tie and collar of garden rose buds and one orchid bloom. He strutted down the aisle with the ring attached to his collar in a Tiffany's bag at their Santa Barbara wedding. (top right; Photographer: Michael and Anna Costa)

Sara and Chad's yellow lab escorted the ring bearer down the aisle wearing a black bow tie, yellow tulip corsage, and a plaid ribbon during their Littleton ceremony. See more details from Sara and Chad's outdoor wedding. (bottom left)

Libby and Dave's black and yellow labs, Kobe and Sucia, were decked out in dahlia and green laurel wreaths. The dogs escorted the groom down the aisle at his La Jolla wedding. (bottom right; Katie Robertson, Red Loft Studio)
