Reception Ideas: What's on Your Menu?

When it comes to cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres and reception entrees, we've heard about a lot of high-end offerings (like seared scallops with guacamole and beef carpaccio, or lobster and mango in phyllo cones), all of which sound delicious, but here's one wedding catering trend I really appreciate. More and more couples are including less fancy (but still tasty) food, like fries and milkshakes. Here are a few that make me want to take an early lunch:
Jenna and Jeff's guests were treated to burgers and fries, plus the couple set up a "sweets table" that included warm cookies and a make-your-own-sundae station. |
Carly and Justin helped keep guests cool at their July wedding with sorbet cones. |
Melinda and Dan served late-night chocolate shakes and grilled cheese sandwiches at their wedding in Chicago.
