Reception Style: Touches of Fall

Posted Monday, September 08, 2008 4:30 PM

Planning a fall wedding? Skip out on the pumpkin decor and embrace the beautiful shades of the season. For their September wedding, Elisabeth & Akan chose a rich color palette of browns, oranges, reds, and neutrals. They decided on personalized touches for a chic, sophisticated affair.

The couple paid attention to every detail making sure to include a touch of fall. Guests were escorted to their seats with red, yellow, and green leaves printed with their name and table number. The leaves hung from a easel covered in brown fabric and accented with orange ribbon. At the end of the evening, everyone took home a brown box filled with cookies. An orange ribbon and a cream card telling guests that a donation had been made in their name to Doctors Without Borders tied everything together. Want to see more pics from this elegant wedding? Consider focusing on the color scheme (it sounds pretty!). One way to complement it would be to use your monogram to tie everything together -- think invites, programs, favor boxes, etc.

Ahhhhh!  A beautiful fall wedding celebrated in the New England region,  say, White Mountains of NH, or upstate NY (Adirondack Mtns), would make for a pristine and memorable wedding day.  Color schemes could be plenty, wouldnt you agree?

Has anyone out there had or plan to have their wedding in either of those regions?  If so, please describe as we will be participating in weddings in both locations...lucky us!

re: Reception Style: Touches of Fall

I'm getting married on October 11th. Our primary color is royal blue but I would love to pull in some fall colors to compliment the season. We don't want to use gold because our University colors were blue and gold. Any suggestions?

We are getting married October 3, and we are using an aqua with burnt orange and white accents. sounds funny but it really pulls together!

Coppers and sage greens could be pretty with a royal blue, depending on how bright it is.  Copper would help you stay away from the yellow-ness of gold.
