Hello, brides! Though I'm new to The Knot staff, I'm far from new to The Knot -- I relied heavily on the editors here for inspiration for my wedding this year, and now I'm going to be sharing my favorite ideas for making your wedding fabulous and one-of-a-kind.
Maybe I'm biased because the bride's a friend of mine, but I absolutely adored the centerpieces at Sarah Smith's and Marc Bertucco's wedding in Elizabeth, IL. Not only did the arrangements by Jean Carlson for Garden Party Florist in Galena, IL, differ from table to table, but the vessels did, too -- and Sarah's mom already owned them all, adding to the backyard celebration's homespun vibe.
If you haven't amassed a collection of suitable flower-holders, you can still vary your centerpieces. This adds texture to your reception space and encourages mingling among the guests -- I know I couldn't resist checking out the other table arrangements if they didn't look like the one near my seat! Or if you're set on a uniform look, at least think outside the bubble vase: Colorful pitchers, tinted jars, and pretty pottery are clever alternatives to clear glass containers.
