Motif Idea: Use Your Zodiac Sign

I'll never knock a monogram -- whether it's on your cake in chocolate, your dance floor in lights, or the towels on your registry -- but I've seen so many lately that this Gemini symbol was a breath of fresh air. It's the Zodiac sign that both Danielle and Charlie, who got married in Los Angeles, CA, were born under, and they used it on their ceremony programs (pictured here), their invitations, and even their aisle runner.

If you're lucky enough to share a sign with your fiance, consider using its symbol where you might otherwise use a monogram or some other graphic. Or, if you were born on opposite ends of the calendar, ask your stationer to combine your two Zodiac symbols to create a single, unique image that'll wow your guests more than a letter of the alphabet ever could.

Dunno. Since the Gemini sign is pretty minimal, it works well. Some other signs might be difficult, but this is classy.

I don't know if I'd recommend it for a formal affair, but I love this idea... My fiancé and I were born under different signs, but are doing something similar. We're both into astrology. I was able to create a unique symbol representing both signs. I think it's more interesting to look at than a plain monogram, and hopefully it'll spark conversation.
