Few things annoy me more than a portrait of a bride and a groom standing straight up and super-close with their arms at their sides. No one stands like that in real life! That's what makes this photo of Vanessa and Don who got married in Riverhead, NY, so great: The bride is unabashedly sassy by putting her hand on her hip, and the groom's laid-back personality shines through via his hand in his pocket. They're leaning into each other, but not on top of each other like those traditional portraits. There's nothing forced about it. (The simple gray barn as a backdrop helps too).
