Bouqet Ideas: Paper Flowers

Posted Friday, December 19, 2008 11:12 AM

Don't bother bringing this photo to your florist: Not even nature can replicate the Crayola-worthy colors in this vibrant bouquet. For Anna and Brian's earth-friendly, Peabody, MA, wedding, the bride opted to carry paper flowers made by Guatemalan fair trade artisans instead of flying in flowers that would die a few days later. With a paper bouquet or centerpiece, not only can you get exactly what you want (aqua peonies, anybody?), but you can also use the arrangement to permanently decorate your home after the wedding.

This bouquet is beautiful.  Where can I find bouquets like this?

I'm making my own.  They are really easy to make with tissue paper.

re: Bouqet Ideas: Paper Flowers

If you live in San Antonio, you can buy these at the Mercado downtown. Would brides actually use these? I usually buy a bunch of the simple multi-colored flowers every couple of years to use in craft projects like decorating my Charlie Brown Christmas tree or attaching to birthday cards, etc. They fade over time. At the Mercado, they also sell calla lily paper flowers, etc. They are magnificent!

Inside the historic Market Square in San Antonio.

BTW, the bunches of flowers like the one in the picture usually cost $6. Well, this was the last time I was down there within the past 2-3 years. This is only one store that sells them:  Plaza Flowery  (210) 475-0077

For some reason, I get "error" page when I hit "paper flowers"

re: Bouqet Ideas: Paper Flowers

Thank you!  I am looking for an inexpensive way to do flowers, especially because 2 of my bridesmaids have allergies and also the flowers end up dying,  so this helps.  Unfortunately I am from RI, but I did get on the website and will look further into it.  If I can not get paper flowers I may just do a small bouquet of fake ones on my own. Shouldnt be too hard since I just want a light blue and whote flower arrangement.  Thanks again.
