Pretty, right? Lanterns are a great budget-friendly centerpiece idea. But I think the reason this one (from Karen and Joey's California wedding ) seems so striking is because of the two succulents and soft river rocks that surround the lantern. Just those

Reception tables can get cluttered up fast with centerpieces, favors, and all that china and glassware. Round menu cards that fit in their chargers instantly give tables some order and are a chic alternative to the standard rectangular cards. (left photo

This is so cool -- it's from a wedding we'll be featuring on the site in a couple weeks. Jamie and Bryan from Phoenix, Arizona went for something completely different for their reception space and chose an outdoor stadium! They had a tent erected in the

Little gemstones and sea glass bits add color and sparkle to any display. I can't think of anything easier. (Left photo: Kim Long Photography , Cincinnati, OH, and escort cards: Blustery Day Design, Cincinnati, OH. Right photo: Danny Weiss Photography

I kind of dread signing traditional wedding guest books. There's never enough space to write a personal message and just signing my name makes me feel like I'm signing a petition rather than a wedding keepsake... I would not have minded signing the one

Some DIY projects, well, look like they were DIY. Not these pearl monogram toppers, which I would have sworn the bride, Tara in Naples, FL, spent hundreds on. Her crafty mom and sister slid some pearl beads onto wire, then shaped the wire into a fun monogram.

My current obsession? Feathers. They make a statement no matter how you use them. Add luxe drama to a simple reception site by pairing bold flowers with big, full feathers in tall vases. Or, ask your florist to design a white rose bouquet encircled by

One of the biggest myths about destination weddings is that they're always more expensive than domestic weddings. Not true! And there are several reasons for this.... you can make the guest list smaller, most destination wedding sites have the extras

Purple's best accent color? More purple. And I'm not just saying that because I'm totally obsessed with the hue. Plums and lavenders are as meant to be as you and your groom. Pinks make mighty fine counterparts too. And you must check out the stunning

3 reasons I love buttercream wedding cakes: 1. They taste amazing. 2. They almost always cost less than fondant cakes. 3. They're nostalgic (in that just-frosted, just-wanna-lick-the-bowl kind of way) Need a wedding cake fix? See 100+ more wedding cake

If your groom is anything like mine, flowers are so not his thing. But I think even a guy's guy would be cool with this fresh take on floral. And it works just as well on the invites as it does on the cake -- not so with other graphics! Photos: Douglas

Remember when naming your wedding tables instead of numbering them was big news? If you're looking for the next big thing for your tables, skip names and numbers altogether and mark each one with an illustration or 3D figure. For their Palm Springs, CA,

This purple-themed dessert bar (created by the very-talented Amy Atlas from Amy Atlas Events ) puts cand bars to shame. Not saying I don't like candy bars -- just saying that a well thought-out color-coordinated table is the way to go if you're looking

Food centerpieces are nothing new, but there's something especially delicious about an elegant, covered stand adorned with a cluster of flowers (from Margaret and Mike's wedding in Columbus, OH). Plain white desserts need not apply, but colorful cakes

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love monogram alternatives. For her wedding to Erik in Minneapolis, MN, Grace, a graphic designer, cleverly thought to use the ampersand--you know, that curly punctuation mark that means "and" -- as a recurring

To me, those wedding ceremonies that seem the most meaningful are the ones where every reading, blessing, and song seem thought-out and purposeful. For their ceremony in Sea Brighton, NJ, Alexandra and Michael planted a hazel tree together to symbolize

I've never been into the idea of adding a wedding date to tote bags, candles, shot glasses, etc. - it just doesn't seem practical. But when I saw these cocktail stirrers (which by the way, you can find at foryourparty.com), I decided that there are some
