Ceremony Ideas - Plant a Tree Together

Posted Friday, March 06, 2009 8:18 PM

To me, those wedding ceremonies that seem the most meaningful are the ones where every reading, blessing, and song seem thought-out and purposeful. For their ceremony in Sea Brighton, NJ, Alexandra and Michael planted a hazel tree together to symbolize their growth as a couple and the roots of their relationship. Simple and sweet.

I absolutely LOVE this idea! We are having a garden wedding and the garden theme will be running throughout the decor in the ceremony and the reception. This would fit right in there!

We are actually going to have our parents put in a scoop of dirt each to the plant before my FI and I put in our scoop together.  We wanted it to symbolize our strong family roots, and how we will take what they have given us growing up and now grow roots together from that foundation.

We want to do this too, but don't have any wording yet. Anyone have some wording we can borrow?
