Favorite Wedding Accent - Feathers!

Posted Friday, March 20, 2009 8:05 PM

My current obsession? Feathers. They make a statement no matter how you use them. Add luxe drama to a simple reception site by pairing bold flowers with big, full feathers in tall vases. Or, ask your florist to design a white rose bouquet encircled by soft puffs of pale pink feathers for the epitome of contemporary romance.
You could also use them in your hair. If you're going for a vintage style, add them to a smart hat with netting. Or, following the ceremony, give your updo a dose of glamour for the reception with a headband accented with feathers and crystals. (Left photo: Janae Shields Photography, San Francisco; right photo from Neille and Jame's wedding in Cleveland.)

re: Favorite Wedding Accent - Feathers!

I was so glad to see this article. I found a headpiece when I was dress shopping that I just knew I had to have. It is a rhinestone headband with a feather flower accent on the side. I plan on wearing it with the veil and into the evening. To bring this feather theme into the rest of the wedding feathers are going to be added to the bouquets and centerpieces. Everyone is so excited. I think it has an old world glamour, and shows a sophisticated, yet simple elegance and that is just what my fiance and I want the day to be.
