Amazing, and I totally disagree.  I think it's completely appropriate, even in a church.  The pastor seems to be having a great time too!  The dance was fun and upbeat!  hey looked like they had a blast and I'm sure it helped make their day exactly what they wanted it to be!

I feel that if this were an outdoor wedding, or a ceremony being held at hotel it would be just fine.  But they are in a church, a holy sanctuary playing a song that has nothing to do with the union of two souls or anything respectful but about going to a club and meeting a girl.  It was inappropriate and disrespectful for the institution in which it was held.

I completely disagree.  I find this great if it were done either at an outside ceremony or at the reception.  To act this way in a house of worship is completely disrespectful of the religion, the pastor, the congregation and the religious beliefs of others in attendance.

This was truly in poor taste.  Even more, this demonstrates that the couple and/or wedding party see the wedding as nothing more than a party instead of a sacred event.   I'm disappointed that The Knot finds this as something worthy of posting.

I think this is great!  I think those who are saying it's horrible and classless are obviously very uptight.  Just cause it doesn't go with your own wedding doesn't make it wrong.

It's cute but, the Church has always been respected.Shows this new age pop religion has turned God into Saturday Night Fever.Some feel that worship is stuffy and not fun.Sad it is....The reception is for this stuff.

But, you know my family and friends are really excited about my event. Glad I don't have any "Debby Downers" in my circle.

There are people who think that this should not be done in a Church, or it is disrespectful, etc.  Please.  I belong to this Church.  The Church (both the congregation and the denomination) was a part of it and had NO ISSUE with it--in fact, in the ELCA online magazine, they mentioned it and LOVED it.  The wedding service in the ELCA church may be short and sweet, but it is God centered.  

Why are we not celebrating that someone did something CREATIVE with the blessing of their church and their family.   Why do they have to walk down the aisle and only save celebrations for the reception?  

If you don't agree with it--fine.  But let's remember it's their wedding and their choice.

And they even got to create this 'special moment' on The Today Show.  Real special.  Any buyer's remorse for getting sucked into a viral campaign?  A comment at Gawker: "Do what you want, it's your day, but I can still think it's a powerful argument against white supremacy."
