That's right. You saw it here first. Donuts are the new wedding cake alternative. Set them up on trays and scatter them around a pretty cake stand. This couple upped the ante by ordering extra-special ones from Dee's Mini Organic Doughnuts (OrganicDonuts.com) -- aka, fresh, all-organic deliciousness.

Nope Seen it before on websites making fun of the couple for it. Calling them cheap rednecks. which i dont think is fair. The past two weddings i went to the cake was covered in fodant and filled with guava. Double nasty, Id take a donut any day.

i love doughnuts! but no, it's not new, i saw a krispy kreme doughnut wedding cake YEARS ago.

You're right! I do remember the Krispy Kreme truck idea from a few years back (still v. cute!) -- but mini doughnuts from your favorite bakery in flavors like Dagoba Chocolate Orange is definitely a fun new twist on the cupcake table!

I love this idea!  Maybe add a Monogram or some decorations on top of the icing!
