"Interracial Couple Denied Marriage License in Lousiana" -- this story (read it here) hit the Associated Press this morning, and frankly, we're disgusted at such blatant bigotry. Two thumbs down.

This couple can come to Charleston and get married with no fear of having this sort of thing happen.  It is unbelievable that we are in the 21 Century and yet still think like the 18th.  So sorry to hear this news.

That's absolutely disgusting!  I am Caucasian and my husband is African, we have four children together and have never encountered anything as awful as that!

Well! I'm mixed--my Dad is African American & Cherokee & my Mom is Romanian, Greek, German, and Dutch---I've managed to make it ha ha God willing. I guess people like that still exist--sad. Not a single day has passed that I am not proud of who I am--skin color being the least important defining characteristic in my life...also I will be marrying my Latino fiance next year!!!
