Wedding Photography Idea - First Sight Photography

I'm a little old school myself and like the idea of saving the first sight for the actual ceremony moment. But this clever little couple came up with the best of both worlds -- a hidden first sight moment, for their photographer's eyes only!

My husband and I did this (we actually did all photos before the wedding so we could spend as much time with our guests as possible), and it was easily the highlight of the day.  Beyond romantic, just the two of us and our ninja photographers who I only know were there because of the pictures (the most gorgeous, emotionally raw pictures I have ever seen of us.  There was no stress, no frustration of some AWOL groomsman, just us.  I recommend this to any couple even remotely considering a "first look."  And seeing each other as I walked down the aisle, me on my dad's arm, was still incredibly special--I don't think the "first look"  took away from that moment at all.

We will be doing this as well. Our ceremony and reception are at the same place, and we would lose our cocktail hour if we did not take pictures beforehand. I'm traditional, so it was hard for me to let go of his first sight being right down the aisle, but I'm glad to know others are doing and have done it and that it works out so well. I'm excited for that moment!!!

I plan on doing a first look as well. Not only to save the time in between ceremony to reception but also because Fi is more open and romantic when it's just me and him. I want that raw emotion before the beginning of the big day. I love the idea and I love the pictures I've seen of first looks too!
