You don't have to love sock monkeys (even though I do!) to love this idea: Get a book of photos of your favorite thing -- birds, baseball, beer, whatever! -- and tell guests to write messages in that. Don't forget a sign and some markers! Photo: Marie

You don't have to ask your guests to sign a book. Use a vinyl record instead -- (like maybe with your first dance song). Put it on a table at the reception, throw silver or gold pens out, and encourage your guests to give you their autographs. Photo:

I kind of dread signing traditional wedding guest books. There's never enough space to write a personal message and just signing my name makes me feel like I'm signing a petition rather than a wedding keepsake... I would not have minded signing the one
