Bad Monkey

Today marks the fourth month that we've been married.  Lo and behold, I have not yet written one thank you card.  None.  Nada.  Zip.  Zilch.  Clutch your pearls, Miss Manners -- I'm one ungrateful bride!

Well, not really.  Just lazy.  And busy.  Seriously, this etiquette stuff kills me.  These archaic rules were meant for jobless housewives, not professional career women who work 60 to 80 hours a week.  Super Angry

Aside from cash gifts, we haven't even opened our stuff!  We've been dating for six years and living together for four years.  We have everything we need already, but etiquette dictates that we couldn't ask for cash.  Now we are stuck with a mountain of unopened cardboard boxes sitting in our dining room, most of which contain things for which we have little or no use.  It's a veritable Fort o' Gifts.  I wouldn't be surprised if we found some homeless dude chillin' at the bottom of the stack.

Maybe I can ask him to write our damn thank you cards.

Argh.

Heehee...I work with a girl who got married in March and she just finished sending hers out last week... As long as there is somebody worse than you, it's ok!
