Bridesmaid Dresses and a Near Bridezilla Moment

Over the weekend, my bridesmaids and I went to the LA Fashion District to look for bridesmaid dresses. To be honest, Fashion District is not my scene; I simply cannot shop at chaotic stores even if they have great deals. I say no to after-thanksgiving sale, Forever 21, and even outlet malls. Nevertheless, I bravely entered downtown LA because I didn't want my bridesmaids to spend hundreds of dollars on a dress they're going to wear once (and let's face it, the brides who think the bridesmaid dresses they chose are so cute that they can be rewearable are just kidding themselves).
In the end, my bridesmaids bought the following dress at Trendy Too for $55 each:

Yes, my maid of honor used a golf club bag to give the dress some "shape" while I took this picture :P
I have to admit, this bridesmaid dress doesn't really match my vision. While we were at Trendy Too, I wanted to turn into a bridezilla and vetoed this dress. After all, it is my wedding and this dress will appear in every other picture. However, just seconds before my skin turned green and my bridezilla tail lashes at every person in the crowded warehouse store, I stopped myself because:
- The dress matches my top two criteria: chocolate brown color and knee-length;
- Both my maid of honor and my bridesmaid chose that dress and they're the ones who have to wear it on my wedding day;
- They're paying for the dresses and I don't feel right dictating where their money goes;
- The dresses are really cheap;
- I'm too lazy to spend any more time shopping for bridesmaid dresses; and
- I felt so out-of-place in the Fashion District that I just wanted to get out of there as soon as humanly possible.
In the end, my bridesmaids bought the dresses and I learned that some things are just not within my control so I have to let them go. So the bridesmaid dresses aren't perfect; oh well.
