Why have a carbon copy wedding and be ok with that?

I know some actually like traditions, they want to experience them while others I see ask the question"is it ok if I do such and such at my wedding?"  Really you will not hear me ask that one because it is our wedding and people can make all the faces they want to because if they are so focused on the wedding instead of being happy for the real reason behind the wedding I can take them off my list.  If you get angry because I decided no cake or to wear a red dress, when if you knew the history behind it you might not complain, just remember that none of that is going to hold any weight or equal to the fact that on that day I am uniting my world with my best friend for life.  So happy to do it but under our terms not Emily Posts rules entirely and that is ok.  Sorry for the rant I simply heard a lot of superstitions that people take to heart and it saddened me that people forget the true meaning sometimes.
