It went by fast. Today is dreary outside but I am beaming lol. Well I already have a venue and due to the colors of the venue my colors have changed to purple, gold, black and white, theme is Caribbean Carnival. Ofcourse it will be elegant with touches of the Caribbean but I am excited about it. Here is the history and I am all about meaning from www.funhunter.com/carnival-history-around-the-world.html.
The Africans also had a carnival tradition where youths in the
African villages used to roam around in the streets of the village
wearing costumes and masks. They used to go around the village in
circles, as they believed it would bring them good luck.
Carnival History
This
kind of carnival was also held to heal problems and calm down angry
relatives who were dead. The carnival masks used during the carnival
was made from items such as beads, shells, bones, grasses, and fabric.
The Africans put feather in their masks to highlight their ability to
overcome problems, pain, illness, or heartbreaks.
These African
carnival traditions were the main reason for the birth of carnivals in
the Americas. During the carnival celebrations in the Americas there
are a whole lot of exciting things such as large puppets, stilt
dancers, stick fighters, and African drums. The colonies where
immigrants from Europe had come, occupied, and brought along slaves
with them, were the centers in which carnivals were started. Some of
the countries in the Caribbean Islands where Carnivals are held are
Jamaica, Cuba, Brazil, Panama, Canada, USA, Trinidad & Tobago, and
Grenada.
The Trinidad Carnival is beautiful and exciting to watch. A
carnival filled with many cultures and tastes, this shows how a
festival or celebration can unite the world. Held for just 5 days every
year, this carnival tradition unites all cultures of the Islands as
they come together for the carnival. This carnival was first started
back in 1785 with the immigration of French settlers and African
slaves. The main celebrations of Trinidad Carnival started in 1838 when
slavery was abolished on this Island as the African people started
holding carnival celebrations on the street. This Island also hosts
Kiddies carnival for little children to educate them about the history
and culture of this Island. Some of the other most popular carnivals
are Rio Samba Carnival in Brazil, Carribean Carnival and The Carnival
of Venice. The common carnival traditions include magnificent carnival
masks and costumes.
These carnivals are now held in different
parts of the world such as India, Belgium, Philippines, Croatia,
Cyprus, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Malta, and many more
countries. However, the origins of the Carnival in different places
remain the same as it is based on the influence of the Roman Catholic
or Eastern Orthodox societies. It is also believed that Carnival begun
from 26 December until the climax day of “Mardi Gras”. During this
period of carnival celebrations, having fun with all sorts of excesses
were allowed and people started wearing carnival masks to get rid of
social divisions. People mainly went about dancing, singing, partying,
and cuddling up with each other during the entire Mardi Gras
celebration in all over the world. From ancient Greek culture to
contemporary world culture, from Pagan beliefs to Christianity, all
people in the world had and have fun in Mardi Gras celebrations in a
very similar way. During Brazil’s Samba Carnival or Carnival of Venice
in Italy or somewhere else in the world, having fun of those Mardi Gass
activities will continue as long as humanity itself exists.

It took some time to figure out colors but the feel of everything is to be like the modern Harlem Renaissance. I am an author, we are both into music and I love that era so I believe the environment will scream us. Yeah we will see if I can pull it off but it looks beautiful in my head at least lol.

We all know what round tables look like but I am beginning to prefer rectangle tables. If they are available with our venue I would love to try it out.
