Caroline & Kevin's Wedding Planning Bio
Welcome

Welcome to our wedding website! After 7 years of dating, we are so excited to finally be engaged and planning our wedding together!
About the Bride

Caroline is currently a student at the University of Maryland School of Nursing in Baltimore, MD. She is pursuing a master of science in the Clinical Nurse Leader program and upon graduation in December of 2009 she hopes to work as a labor and delivery nurse- and possibly one day obtain a degree as a Certified Nurse Midwife. She is a 2004 graduate of the John Carroll School and a 2008 graduate of the College of Notre Dame of Maryland where she was captain of the varsity swim team and a member of the College's Elizabeth Morrissy Honor's Program. In her spare time, Caroline enjoys going to the beach and boating, spending time with hers and Kevin's large families and group of friends, working out/continuing to swim at the Bel Air Athletic Club (has recently taken up boxing!), and shopping when she has time.
About the Groom

Kevin is currently a mechanical engineer working at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He is a 2003 graduate of the John Carroll School; and a 2008 graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), where he was an active member of his fraternity- Sigma Alpha Epsilon- as well as the club lacrosse team. In his spare time, Kevin also enjoys the beach/boating, spending time with his and Caroline's large families and group of friends, working out at the Bel Air Athletic Club, and playing lacrosse.
How we met

Funny as it may seem, Kevin and Caroline lived in the same neighborhood, went to all the same schools (Trinity Lutheran, Homestead Wakefield Elementary, Bel Air Middle, and John Carroll) but never met until May 2002 during football spring training practice!! He was a varsity football player and she was a varsity football manager. They both secretly liked each other, but nothing really came about until late August 2002 when they both admitted to liking each other, and they decided to go on a date. As they say, "the rest is history"... sort of! After almost three years of dating, they broke up in college with no plans of getting back together. They spent about a year apart, but reunited "randomly" and have been inseparable ever since!
The Proposal

Kevin had been ring shopping for a few weeks, and that was no secret from Caroline. Little did she know though, on Thursday the 25th, Friday the 26th, and Saturday the 27th Kevin was running around like a chicken with his head cut off dealing with a few different jewelers in the Towson area, calling her cousin Ben to schedule a proposal for Saturday, asking dad's permission, etc. He was busy- and SNEAKY!! On June 27th, Caroline's cousin Ben's band, The Killer Bees, was doing a gig at The Tower in Bel Air. She was secretly hoping he would propose at this show because her whole entire family was going to be there as well as his parents, and many of their friends. But she was 100% positive that he hadn't bought a ring yet, so she had convinced herself that he was definitely not going to propose at the show. However... just before the show started, her cousin Ben announced to everyone that before the show could start there was a special announcement to be made. Kevin led her to the stage/dance floor, got down on one knee and pulled a microphone out of his back pocket, and asked her to marry him, presenting her with a beautiful ring. She was absolutely SHOCKED! Kevin can be kind of shy so this was definitely a feat for him, proposing in front of about 100 people- many family, friends, and even strangers. The cool part is that they have millions of pictures, memories shared with family and friends from the evening (a great show!), and Kevin's dad even got the whole thing on videotape. It was perfect. Absolutely perfect, and a day neither one of them will ever forget. !
Ceremony Location

We will be getting married at Caroline's alma mater, the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, in the Marikle Chapel of the Annunciation. It is a gorgeous little chapel- a hidden gem, if you will :) She knew that she wanted to get married there from the moment she set foot in the chapel. It is absolutely beautiful, and in the early 200's was fully renovated, the original stained glass windows were restored, and air conditioning installed. It holds a lot of sentimental value to Caroline.
Reception Location

We haven't made any definite decisions yet, but right now our number one choice is the Tremont Grand in downtown Baltimore. Some other front-runners include: Camden Ballroom at Camden Yards. On our list to look at still are the Pier 5 Hotel, Hyatt Regency Baltimore, and the Maryland Golf and Country Club. We'll be sure to keep you posted!

Laurie Myers is absolutely amazing to work with. She was the one vendor I absolutely had to have, she's done arrangements and worked several times with my family's business for events over the years. She works out of her home, and does everything h
