Rustic. Fall. Wedding.

Steve and I met at Mr. Gattis in June 2002 when I first began working there. On my first day, we only spoke to each other enough for him to show me how things worked around the kitchen. Before the night was over, other employees were asking me for my number so they could give it to Steve. Of course, I gave a old boyfriend's number instead.
As the months passed, we only talked when we had to and often did our own thing at work. School started not too long after that. I remember walking in to history class and seeing Steve sitting there the first day and I immediately went on the opposite side of the classroom.
As the weeks went by, class projects "forced" us to work together, creating a friendship that we had avoided before. We eventually began hanging out and became good friends. Steve even stepped in and took me to our Junior Prom after my date decided that day to go with someone else.
It wasn't until November 14, 2003 that Steve and I decided to quit putting off the inevitable and decided to become a couple. The rest is history...

At Steve's family Christmas, everyone was gathered in the living room, ready to begin opening gifts. Steve's aunt and uncle began passing gifts around the room, making sure everyone had one to open. After a few minutes, Steve's uncle handed me a small, rectangular box. Just as I reached for it, Steve told me I had to open that one last and quickly set it on the floor. I got all excited and slowly slouched down to feel it as Steve turned his head. It definitely wasn't a ring box, so I went on opening the other gifts given to me.
About five minutes later, Steve told me I could go ahead and open the small box from before and that it was from Megan and Morgan (his sisters). I opened the box to find a brown watch. I told Morgan thank you and set it down.
A few minutes had passed when Steve asked me if I told Megan thank you (which I hadn't because I didn't want to yell across the room). However, with Steve insisting that it was rude of me, I yelled at Megan and told her thank you.
A confused look quickly swept over Megan's face. I held up the watch and told her thank you for it. After she realized what I meant, Steve's other aunt looked at me and asked why in the world someone would buy me a watch for Christmas. I wasn't quite sure how to respond, seeing as how I could really use it.
As that time, Steve came to my rescue, only not with the answer I had expected. As I turned to Steve, he quickly responded with "So she will remember what time I asked her to marry me."
With that, Steve reached in Morgan's bag and pulled out a beautiful solitare diamond ring and asked me to marry him....and after a long pause of shock, the answer was YES!

We are having an outdoor ceremony at the Henry Breeding Farm in Edinburgh, Indiana.

The Reception will also be at the Breeding Farm in their 3,500 sq ft barn. Although I wasn't so sure about it at first, the fact that we can turn it into whatever we want became pretty appealing.
