Kevin and I met through mutual friends while I was visiting Boston from D.C. for New Year's 2005. One of my best girlfriends (now bridesmaid!) and two guyfriends went up together to visit another friend (now groomsmen!) who happened to be Kevin's college friend and post college roommate. On the 30th when we arrived after the LONG drive, we all went out and at the second bar, Kevin joined the party. I took the barstool next to him at SideBar and we started chatting - the rest is history!

Kevin proposed to me on November 21, 2008 down on one knee right in the living room! It didn't start out planned that way though... A week or so prior, Kevin thought it would be fun to do a self guided tour of the D.C. monuments at night. It was a freezing and clear night. We started at the Capitol, ventured to the Washington Monument, then the World War II, drove by Honest Abe and finally landed at the Jefferson. Each spot had been quiet and romanic up until we reached TJ which was overrun with teenage tourists screaming and running around! I had a feeling Kevin wanted to propose there but the moment was just not right! I could tell that he was disappointed - so was I! We went to the little dive bar where I had taken him the first time he came to visit (Cowboy Cafe!!) to get something to eat and then headed home. Kevin was sneaky and popped a bottle of wine and managed to get down on one knee by the time I'd changed and come out to watch TV (or so I thought).
