I coached gymnastics with two girls in high school, Ashley and April. They were in college and friends with the baseball team. They had told me about this guy named "Opossum", nickname at the time. I saw him at a basketball game they took me to. Then one night us three girls went out for a girls night of bowling. It just so happened that some of the baseball boys were there, including "Opossum". We ended up bowling with them that night. This was back in 2003, and I just found out about 2 years ago from Ashley that it was a set up. To this day Eric swears that I did not tell him goodbye that night. I know I did. Ashley sent me a text message later the next week saying Eric wanted my number. She told Eric the same thing. Pretty sneaky haha. Good ol high school days. Eric and I talked on the phone for a good week and a half before he asked me on a date. He came and picked me up to take me to Olive Garden and a movie, Anger Management.

Eric and I both love Baseball! We want to go to all of the ballparks eventually. In July 2009, he discussed trying to go to Chicago to see Wrigley field before the season was over. I was up for that. I wasn't thinking anything of it since we had already done St. Louis in June. I have been to Chicago before and when he mentioned it, I also said oh they have these really fun dinner cruises on Lake Michigan we can do. He said he would check into it. Little did I know he had already checked into it. We got to Chicago and did the dinner cruise. When we were seated and the waitress came over and told us about the ship Eric looked puzzled. He told me he thinks we're seated in the wrong section that he paid for the upgrade or something. (this was true) I told him go talk to the hostess then if you paid for more. He left and he said he met the manager and the captain. They were all really nice and said if you need anything let us know, and we can move you. (at this time he was also talking about the proposal, but they already knew) When he booked it he told the lady of his plans. Things got fixed with our menus and table situation. After the appetizer he said he was going to the restroom prior to our meal being served. No big deal. Then the manager comes up to me to apologize for the mix up. He offers to take me on a tour of the ship. At this point I am embarrassed. I'm thinking great they probably think we're really snobby young kids, we both look really young. He takes me to the captains deck and then up outside. At the top of the stairs he says, "and here's Eric waiting for you." Eric has roses in his hand and the first thing out of my mouth is, "Eric what are you doing, you're suppose to be in the bathroom!" He then asked me to sit down and told me how happy he has been since he met me and how he wants to make me happy for the rest of my life. That's about all I can remember. I said YES!
