Ryan and I met in highschool through mutual friend even though we went to different highschools. Ryan was a senior and I was a sophmore. We met during lunch and he returned after school with a rose and offered to give me a ride home. 14 years later and we are still together, though there have been some bumps along the road they were well worth it. We are stronger and better than ever.
For my 30th birthday we were going to Maui. The weekend before my birthday Ryan was working a event. We have a Dj company so he was Djing an event at a local golf course. I was headed out to dinner with some friends of ours who were up from out of town. 30 minutes before we were do to leave I get a phone call from Ryan saying he forgot a laptop and he needed me to bring it to him on our way to dinner. As I was walking into the venue I rounded the corner to see all my friends and family jumping up and shouting surprise!! I was shocked and so overwhelmed with emotions that he would go through all the work to plan me a surprise birthday. It was truly the best night of my life so far, but it was about to get even better. About 45 minutes into the party he sits me down in front of everyone and pulls out the video screen and plays a video montage of our life together. At the end of the slideshow he stood up, to what I assumed was to thank everyone. Next thing you know he is saying I could have done this anywhere in the world, but I thought there couldn't be a better place than in front of all of our friends and family. He got down on one knee and made me the happiest girl on earth. I was saying yes as he was pulling the ring hidden in his sock out which he dropped on the floor he was so nervous!!

We have known for quit sometime that we wanted to do a destination wedding. with my fiance Djing 50 weddings a year we knew that would be the only way he would feel our wedding was truly unique. 5 years ago his mom took us to Maui when she retired and I just fell in love with the island and I knew someday I would want to be married there. After the proposal we were going to Maui for my 30th birthday and we were keeping our eye out for wedding locations. When we accidentally ran into the Sugarman estate (we were snorkeling up the coast) I knew it was the place. After some research on other beach locations I knew my mind could not be changes because my heart was set on Sugarman.
We are doing teal dresses with accents of wine and ivory, plus a little lime green because I love cymbidium orchids.
I love love love food and we want to do yummy seafood and definitely not the normal wedding food you would normally do. My Fiance just asked if we could do all appetizers cause he didn't want wedding food. I just laughed and said no, but we will do something different and unique.
I really like the invitations above, but I would do them in teal instead of the pink as they are shown. I love the idea of save the date magnets.
WOW I think I found the one... It was a much harder decision than I thought it was going to be. The more dresses you try on the more confusing it gets. Of all the dresses this is the one that made me want to twirl in and I did all throughout the store. =)
