We met in high school. (Ok, before you start laughing.... )We were just friends in high school. In fact, he was dating my best friend and I was dating his. The four of us, (along with a select group of others),ran around together for the better part of high school. We had the best times together and loved each other like siblings. After graduation we all drifted apart as we pursued different dreams. Both Mark and I went on to marry others (no he didn't marry my best friend). Sadly, neither of those unions were successful beyond the creation of some pretty spectacular kids. A two years ago we found each other on MySpace (ok,you can start laughing now), and renewed our friendship. It started slow...reminiscing about old times, IM chats, hours long phone calls, and progressed to coffee dates and zoo trips. We were quickly becoming each others most beloved friend. Before too long we both began to feel something wake up inside of us that we thought had been extinguished forever. A kind of love with both passion and comfort. New love tempered by the fires of our combined pasts. Ours is a love story that spans decades, and several kinds of love. In each other we relive our past, embrace our present and dream of a future where we grow old in each other's arms.
