Dan and I met on a random night in 2001. We were introduced by a mutual friend and the night ended with Dan throwing me over his shoulder because "that's how Vikings picked up chicks." For the following month I kept thinking about this funny, cute guy I'd met and finally asked my friend for Dan's screen name. We talked online for a while and he invited me to a party. I've been smitten ever since.

While on vacation in Cancun, we decided to take a day trip to Chichen Itza to see the Mayan ruins. We took a group tour around the site and after seeing the temples, made our way onto the ball court. Once we stepped onto the court, Dan asked a man in our group to take our picture. He took one pic, then Dan asked him to take another. As he did, Dan turned me to face him, and asked me to marry him. After screaming, "Oh my God!" a couple of times, I, of course, said yes.
