I grew up in Riverview, Michigan. I started figure skating at the age of 3 and spent most of the next 14 years of my life in ice rinks all over the United States. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to travel to some wonderful places overseas as well during my "skating days". I decided to "retire" during my senior year of high school so that I could enjoy the things that normal high schoolers get to do (prom, spring break, etc.). After graduating high school, I went to Eastern Michigan University and left skating far behind. I graduated HS and went off to college. Three schools and 10 years later, I finally finished my Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

I need to tie Matt down and get him to fill this out but for now...here's the basics:
Matt grew up in Lake Orion, MI. He went to Lawrence Tech and has a degree in Electrical Engineering. He works for a defense contractor in Sterling Heights (if you're from the area, you know what company it is lol) and really enjoys what he does (or at least he does a good job of acting like it). Matt loves sports...of all kinds. He loves watching them and playing them...in real life and in fantasy leagues! He plays softball and hockey regularly and enjoys both. He has a great memory, especially when it comes to sports, and remembers things about specific players or games that you wouldn't think people would remember. Matt loves Kim and he is very excited to be marrying her. He knows that he is a very lucky guy and he is very excited to be getting the opportunity to spend the rest of his life with the one that he loves....and that's me!
That will have to do for now

Matt and I met online in July of 2007. We emailed back and forth for a few weeks before exchanging phone numbers. After a week or so of great phone conversations, we decided to meet in person. I was heading downtown to a bar to meet up with a friend of mine that was visiting from Philadelphia. My friend Allison was going with me so I called Matt and told him that he should grab some friends and come down and join us. I figured that this would be a good way for us to meet and not feel awkward. Being with a group of people would give us the opportunity to discreetly "disappear" if either of us weren't feeling like we had some kind of chemistry. Matt ended up meeting us at the bar with a few friends of his. When I arrived and tried to find him I sent him a text asking if he had gotten there yet and his reply was. "Yes, I'm the guy in the striped polo shirt at the bar..." Hello, it's 2007 and EVERY GUY wears a striped polo shirt to the bar these days! Lucky for him, I have a great sense of humor and played along. Once we finally found each other amongst the huge crowd of drunks, we hit it off immediately and here we are!

Matt proposed on December 12, 2008. My mom was visiting for the weekend from Arizona and I spent the afternoon shopping with her. When I returned home, Matt had turned on the Christmas tree and all of the Christmas lights we had in the house...which wasn't normal for him to do. I was caught off guard but didn't suspect anything. Matt greeted me and told me that we had gotten a new Christmas ornament in the mail and told me I should try to find it on the tree. (note: we had gotten an ornament from the Detroit Tigers a few days earlier so, since we also have Lions season tickets, I thought maybe we had gotten one from them too) So, I drop my bags and start perusing the tree to find the new ornament. After about 3 seconds (no joke), Matt says to me "nevermind, I will find it for you...close your eyes" And again, I still suspect nothing. So then he tells me to open my eyes and when I do, Matt is down on one knee with my gorgeous ring in his hand and he tells me how much he loves me and how he wants to spend the rest of his life with me and then asks "Will you marry me?" I was in complete shock! We called family and friends to share the great news and celebrated over dinner and drinks that evening. My ring is gorgeous. It is a princess cut diamond with pave-set diamonds in a Tacori criss-cross band. The boy did good! :-) (I have a pictures of MY ring on MY hand, I just need to upload them)

*The usual knottie disclaimer: I started collection photos long before I figured out how to make a bio. So, if you see one of your images in my bio, please page me on the Detroit board and let me know so that I can give you proper credit, or remove the image if you prefer. Thanks! :)
