Patrick and I met when I was in the 8th grade and he was in the 9th. I was best friends with his stepsister and he asked me to go to our school's homecoming with him. We have been dating/best friends ever since.

I graduated from ASU on May 9, 2009, and a week later, we went on vacation in Hilton Head, South Carolina with Patrick's dad, sister, brother-in-law, and nephew. After we found out we would be going to Hilton Head, we found out Savannah, Georgia was very close. I have always wanted to go to Savannah, so Patrick said that maybe we could go while we were on vacation. We never really made any plans for it other than that. On Tuesday in Hilton Head, I woke up pretty late and Patrick told me that he had made reservations at a bed and breakfast in Savannah for the next day. I was so excited! So the next morning, we packed our bags and said bye to our chihuahua, Ellie, and headed to Savannah. When we got there, we went and ate lunch on the river at The Shrimp Factory (cajun is our favorite!). After that, we checked into the Marshall House, Savannah's first hotel. After a nap, we got ready and ate dinner and then went for a walk. I wanted to go back to the hotel because I had uncomfortable shoes on and I wanted to change. Patrick, for some reason, told me we couldn't go back. We walked and walked looking for a fountain that there was a picture of in our room. It was getting pretty late, and we still hadn't found it. We were close to another square with a fountain so we went and sat there to rest. We were sitting on a bench in the middle of what we found out later is the first square in Savannah..Johnson Square. We were just talking and we were about to get up to go back to the hotel and Patrick stood up and got down on one knee and I don't really remember much after that because I just covered my face in disbelief and excitement. I had NO idea this was going to happen! I heard him ask if I would marry him and after I composed myself, I said yes! It couldn't have been more perfect. After a while, we walked, very happily, back to our hotel. When we got to our room, there was champagne waiting for us, and I figured out that is why I wasn't allowed to come back to the room to change shoes!

I would recommend that any bride in New Orleans go to Pearl's Place to buy their dress. The ladies there are so nice and fun and they have the best selection of designer dresses. They also offer free alterations.
