Daisypath Ticker

A few things that I forgot to include in my vendor review.

First, make-up artist/hair stylist. I was SO pleased with how everything turned out - I can't say enough about this vendor. His name is Wesley O'Neil, and he can be contacted best via cell at 818-723-1706. His prices are really reasonable, he will do your make-up on site, and he's really talented. He prefers to do just make-up, but he also does hair (he did mine and I LOVED it). Anyway - I highly recommend him!

Invitations - I made them myself. I worked with www.papelletterpress.com to create the actual buckslip (I designed and they letterpressed it). I purchased the bamboo mats from www.pearlriver.com and I purchased the dried, pressed flowers from www.pressed-flowers.com. I purchased the blue mulberry paper (for one side of the envelopes) from www.handmadepaper.com and then I purchased the card stock for the other side of the envelope at a local paper store. I adhered the buckslip to the mat with a hot glue gun, and I adhered the dried flowers to the buck slip with a special paper concrete that is very dry (otherwise it would discolor the flowers). And lastly, I stitched the envelopes together on a sewing machine for an extra handmade look. I also made the placecard/menu cards myself and any other signs that were needed (like for the flip flop bins).

And, my dress was Vera Wang from Barney's in LA.

And lastly, we purchased our photo guest books from www.adessoalbums.com and loved them. We bought the polaroid film from costco ... not much of a savings, but every penny counts.

And some photos from our honeymoon in Cancun ...

We are getting married on the sand at the Jonathan Club at the Beach, in Santa Monica. We're staying away from typical "beachy" decor elements like sand and shells, and instead we're going for a very modern, sexy feel.

Love the idea of a lounge on the beach - Like this ...

or this ...

And instead of tables for 8 or 10, we're having very long tables - I really like the way it looks, and for our venue, it's perfect because it requires less space and flooring!

For colors, we're sticking mainly with whites (and greenery), and we'll infuse some color with a few elements (but haven't decided on that color yet!). I think our reception decor will look something like this, but minus the burlap and with quite a few more candles (evening wedding) ...

Love the swagging and lighting effects in this photo ... very romantic!

Here are a few centerpiece ideas I like...

Programs on fans for an outdoor ceremony -- what do you think...too much??
