Vendor Reviews
A Paradise Dream Wedding-Yumi A+++++
www.mauiwedding.net
Yumi was wonderful. Our wedding was perfect and it was because of her hard work. If something went wrong that day I did not know about it. She was one of my favorite vendors and made our special day perfect.
A Paradise Dream Wedding-Eric Dahl A+++++
www.mauiwedding.net
Eric was my absolute favorite vendor. I was so happy with our pictures and he was so much fun. I think he really enjoys what he does and see's wedding photography as art. He is amazing!!!!!! Words can not explain how much fun he was to work with.
James Kimo Kirkman-Minister A+++++
www.mauiministers.com
Kimo was wonderful and looked so Hawaiian. I loved how he did our ceremony. He was very easy to work with. I highly recommend him.
Hawaii Video Memories-Video A+++++
www.hawaiivideomemories.com
Todd was wonderful. He has a very unintrusive style. In fact I was worried that our video would not come our very good because we did not get any direction from him. Well we got our vidoe and it was amazing. He vidoe things that I didn't even know he was vidoeing. He was so creative and used some great angles. He is also one of my favorite vendors. I am so glad we decided to use them!! Ladies if you are debating weather or not to have a video done. Do it!!! You will be so happy you did!!
Maui Wedding Cakes-Baker A-
www.mauiweddingc
Our cakes looked great and didn't taste bad either. It was a little dry but over all the flavor was pretty good. They get a A- because the cake was dry.
Limo A+++++
I am not sure what limo company APDW used but my driver was great. He really tried to help me relax before the wedding and drove me to a few scenic places before i arrived to the wedding site. I really enjoyed the limo driver.
Dan Sanches A++++
www.mauistylingsofdansanchez.com
Perfect!!! Dan is so sweet and did a great job on my hair. He really helped me relax and worked well with the make up artist. He was also one of my favorite vendors. Funny story-After the wedding DH and I went back the the cottage to relax before our special wedding night out. When we got to the cottage and I relized that I left my wedding note book which had all the details for our wedding night and our honeymoon in it at Dans salon. I called Dan to see if we could come by the salon and get it. He had already left the salon but was in the area where we were staying. So he gave us directions to where he was so we could pick up the note book. We started having problems with the rental on the way over there. The windows, air, top ect would not work. When we got there to pick up the note book and started telling Dan about the car and how we had to now cancel our dinner to take care of the rental. Dan offered to let us borrow his car and he said he would take the rental back to Alamo for us and get it exchanged ( He was very persistant also). Of course we couldn't do that!! But it was increadibly sweet. If I were to have a big brother I would want him to be like Dan. If you use him you will totally understand what I mean. He is so awsome and there is something very comforting about him!!!
MeiLei Coon A+++++
meili.coom@gmail.com
I loved MeiLei, her and Dan worked so well together and she did such a great job on my make up. My make up looked natural and lasted all day. I highly recommend here.
Howard Eisenberg-Saxophonist A+++++
eyes@maui.net
Howard seemed great during the wedding planning stage. He always answered emails right away and was very friendly and could play a great variety of music. Howard look great for the ceremony and look very good in our pictures. He stood out on the rocks of Makena Cove and gently played backgroud music. APDW highly recommend him. I am sure the music sounded wonderful. But honestly I was so excited and focused on my DH I don't even remember what he played or sounded like. But I know he was good and also pleasent to speak with. He also has a great sense of humor.
Dellables--Florist A+++++
della@dellables.com
Della Peacock was great! I loved how our flowers looked and smelled. DH's Mei Lei looked great also. Everything was beautiful. Della brought a lot of extra flowers for our cake table and stayed for most of the wedding to help out. She was really great. And my flowers lasted over a week. I can't remember the name of her website. She was recommend by APDW.
Honeymoon Pictures-LaShawn (Bamboo Forest and Waterfall) B-
www.lashawnphotographic.com
LaShawn took us to a really nice place for our pictures. They came out good but not great. I have seen other pictures he has taken at the same site that were much more creative.
Vincent Salamander-Sunset Photo Shoot -C
www.merrymauiweddings.com
Our sunset pictures came out ok. Vincent was a lot of fun to work with. We orginally hired them as our wedding planner but ended up having a few problems so we decided to use APDW. They allowed us to use our $500.00 deposit for sunset pictures.
Alamo FFFFF
They were one of my worst vendors. We went through three cars with them. The third on finally lasted the rest of our trip. The check engine light came on with the first car. When we returned it we saw them giving the car to someone else after we told them there was a problem!! We asked them why they did that and they said they normally just reset the computer so the light goes off and then they put it back on the lot. The manager actually told us that they have a lot of problems with the cars but that it is to be expected because of the hight altitude and there is nothhing they can do about it. I asked why they don't have the cars fixed and he said because they will get messed up again!!! Don't rent from them!! We rented a convertiable. I am not sure if we had so may problems because of the type of car we rented. I know they get used a lot but it is still no excuse!
Places We Stayed At
.
Mahina Cottage A+++++
www.mauimoonlightgarden.com
Anne and Marvin the owners where so nice. This is a bed and breakfast so they prepared a wonderful breakfast for us and left it in the frig every night when we went out. We stayed in a private cottage which was very private. We never ran into the owners. The breakfast was normally island fruits and pastiers. I cottage was so cute and very comfortable. They had a beautiful garden area with lots of avacoda trees and a little hidden area with chairs for relaxing. The view from the huge Lani was breathtaking and the hamick was very nice. I would stay there again!
Aloha Cottage-The Bali Bungalow A+++++
www.alohacottage.com
This was my absolute favorite place to stay. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. This place is pure luxary and romance!! Everything in the cottage was top notch. We loved the sky light over the bed, the huge lani with the out door tube, the double shower and the bed was so comfortable. The owers are great and very friendly. The cottage is totally private and perfect for honeymooners. I loved this place and would hightly recommend it!
Maui Retreat-The Bamboo Temple FFFFF!!!!
www.mauiretreat.com
I booked this cottage for a week(7 days). Like most places on Maui you are required to pay in full before you arrive. We paided in full and arrived here are last week on Maui. When I made the reservation I was told that the cottage was totally private and upscale. I was also told that the cottage was recently updated. We we got there the owners greeted us. They were totally weird!! They took us to the cottage which ended up being a dump!! The cottage smelt funny, there were stains all over the rugs and the sheets on the bed were so old and stained. The shower was outside which could of been nice but the owners house was right above the cottage and they could look down into the shower!! It was not private at all. There was work being done a another cottage and we always had people walking past our cottage and one person (the owner) even looked in our window one morning. There were not curtains on the huge sliding door where everyone walked by. It was horrible. We stated there for a few days and decided our last week on Maui was not going to end like this. So on the thrid night around midnight we packaged our stuff and checked into the Maui Prince. I called the owners and told them that we were mislead and I wanted a refund. They refused to give us a refund, so we ended losing all the money we paid for the week. Also they had this guess guide in the room that went over services ect. It was a very weird book. They actually encourage there guest to pee on their PaPaya trees. I think they where extreme naturalist. They also had the cottage decorated with figures of differnt gods having sex. It was very weird.
Maui Prince A+++++
www.princeresortshawaii.com
When we got to the hotel everyone already new our story about the Bamboo Temple. I called begging them to find a room for us(they were the last hotel I called, I had already spoken to several other hotels). Everyone was very nice and the hotel was beautiful and very Hawaiian. We got a ocean view room, the view was spactacular!! It was really nice being right on the beach. This hotel owns the beach that it is on. The restraunts and room service were great. And the staff was perfect. The grounds where beautiful. They have a court yard with a huge pond in the middle of it. The hotel horseshoes around the garden court. When you go out on the Lani you have a beautiful view on the beach and when you walk out the door you have a view of the court yard. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff worked really hard to make sure we where happy.
