Cocktail Hour

It had rained at the start of the weekend and I was so happy the sun came out for our indoor/rooftop cocktail hour. It was so cool that the photographer got the rainbow over the Empire State Building!

The favor box for the candy buffet with the tri-fold menu under it.

They announced us from the balcony and we walked it to "Deep in the Heart of TX"--because that is where we met!

This is the break-away fortune bouquet

Personalized Champagne was a surprise gift from the IL's

****************Non-pro wedding pictures*******************

Getting Ready with the amazing Jorge Hernandez doing my hair. His salon is called Morel and it is on Long Island. He use to be in the city, but I will follow him anywhere he goes.

This is a picture with my sister (wearing the shirt I got her) in the middle of make-up application with the also fantastic David Harel.

Before and After. What a difference!

And here are the ladies all done up,followed by my family, and my IL's.

*****************Cocktail Hour***************

We had a Dim Sum and Peking Duck stations

************Reception****************

We were announced from the balcony and then walked in to "Deep in the Heart of TX" (which is where we met)

I heart our cake!

*******Day after morning breakfast goodbye********

We just had bagel, muffins, coffee, and tea in our suite for the guests staying at the hotel, so that everyone could stop in, grab a snack, and say goodbye one last time.

Me, MIL and my Mom. I'm wearing the shirt my sister got for me.

********REHEARSAL DINNER: At Tavern on the Green***************

My mom put my hair in a bun for a different look.

The food was surprisingly good, but the service still needs a lot of work. We choose Tavern on the Green because DH and I had our first NYC date there and it is a iconic NYC place.

I made these favors for the RH, since I had left over take out boxes. I put white chocolate covered fortune cookies inside. We passed them out and told everyone "we were fortune they were with us and such a big part of our special day"

The flowers on the tables

*************HONEYMOON**************

Our original layover was suppose to be in Milan, but that morning the airport went on strick! It caused some drama at first, but then we were put on another airline with a 4 hour layover in Munich. So we made the best of it and took the train into town to see Munich for an hour and a half.

Munich has so much character and we can't wait to go back sometime in the future.

We had to have a beer and a pretzel in Germany!

***************Greece*******************

SANTORINI

We stayed at small hotels that were in or next to the main areas of town

Our hotel, our balony and the view.

>

Our first night we had dinner at Ambrosia in this private cave. Very romantic!

We did the donkey ride down and then the cable car ride up, but we should have done it the other way around. That hill is steep!

MYKONOS

This is DH looking out the one of the windows of our room and I'm on the rooftop deck taking the picture.

Our other view.

This was our modest hotel. Small and perfect for us.

Balcony view of the "garden"

The pelican was cool until it attacked me! LOL I'll never look at "Finding Nemo" the same.

Renting a moped or 4 wheeler is the way to see the whole island. It's a way to have cheap fun with beautiful views!

Mykonos is the 24 hour party place. We felt so old, but look at all of these people and the the beach party was just starting.

ATHENS

Beautiful old cathedrals everywhere

And of course you could always see Acropolis up on the hill as you toured around the city

The view of Acropolis from our balcony

ISTANBUL

The Grand Bazaar with 4,000 shops

Looking over the rooftops of the Grand Bazaar

Here a Mosque, There a mosque, everywhere a mosque, mosque..... since Istanbul is 90% Muslim.

The inside was just as beautiful

The dome ceilings were amazing

This all wooden house was a very unusual site

Just being silly

I loved the Spice Bazaar!

Olives!

We went to a hookah bar/outdoor cafe with music and dancing

Neither DH or I smoke so we got apple favored

Aren't we cool? LOL

This is the Turkish dance where this man spins in a circle forever without stumbling one bit. I don't know if it was the hookah or what but I was getting dizzy just watching him.

The rabbit picked a good fortune for us!
