We're Married!
Brett and Erin's Wedding Pictures
June 30, 2007

Brett and I met when I came to Australia for a four month adventure just after getting my bachelors degree. He came into the Darling Harbour restaurant I was working in and we both fell in love at first sight...I even told all my work-mates that I was going to marry him that very day :)

We did just that on June 30th, 2007 in Neenah, Wisconsin. The following are our professional wedding pictures, taken by Lindsey Van Roy Photography. If you would like to use any of these pictures, please credit Lindsey and myself...thank you so much!

Because they are everywhere in Australia and cannot be found in the continental United States, we had 7,000 frangipani (a.k.a. plumeria) blossoms flown in from Hawaii...it smelled like heaven.

Our unity candle...underneath the water was a pewter ring that reads "An unbroken circle symbolizes a commitment of love that is neverending".

We displayed two floral towers with three lanterns hanging from each, in memory of our six relatives who have passed on.

My sister (and MOH) is a harpist.

My other sister sang and my aunt accompanied her on guitar...we are a musical family :)

Looking nervous...

What am I getting myself into?

DH directing lost groomsmen...

Waiting with his brothers...

My wedding gift to DH...locket cufflink with pictures of his grandparents in them (both his GFs have passed away and his GMs were too frail to make the trip from Australia). He loved them.

The ring bearer was DH's 8-year-old son...he was so cute!

He carried the rings in a little wooden box.

Lost groomsmen have arrived!

Love this shot...ring bearer (SS) is hilarious.

THE GIRLS

I'm proud to say that I did my own hair and makeup on my wedding day...mostly because I'm a perfectionist control freak when it comes to hair and makeup.

I so loved my jewellery...

DH surprised me with a wedding gift of beautiful diamond earrings.

Now I just need a dress!

But first I gotta help my girls. I adored their BM dresses...white with a yellow sash, just like all of our frangipani flowers.

The BM bouquets...solid frangipanis.

Now it's my turn! Mom helping me put on my dress...

I love this shot...it's of me looking in the mirror after I am all ready.

My bouquet was stunning.

Me and my girls...they were all so gorgeous!

Ahhh! Flower girls were so cute! They were each dressed as little fairy, complete with angel wings, cyrstal wand, and flowers on their skirts. Too cute for words.

They were hilarious too.

My dad seeing me for the first time...he looked so handsome!

My mom looked beautiful too...I found her dress for her in Hawaii and it was fabulous.

My mom's wedding gift to me...my great grandmother's topaz ring. Topaz is my birthstone...it was my absolute favorite wedding present by far.

She gave it to me in a heart shaped box with a poem she wrote on the inside cover. The ring was a perfect fit :)

Here we go!

I was soooo nervous.

Waiting, waiting...

Moms lit the unity candles just before the ceremony started.

The moment we'd been waiting for! On a side note, I made my veil (sewed over 3,000 crystals!) and I was so proud of it :)

Yay!

We're married!

Celebratory kiss :)

My grammy and papa leaving the church...I thought her dress was so pretty.

So happy :)

Bridal party (minus FGs...they were getting too restless by this point!)

My paternal extended family (all in from California).

My maternal extended family (also from California).

DH's extended family (both sides came in all the way from Australia).

Since they don't have them here and DH loves them, we rented a red mustang convertible for three days surrounding the wedding...it was a blast :)

*sigh* Words cannot express how much I love these botanical gardens pictures.

RECEPTION

Entrance to the reception.

Our amazing placecard table centerpiece.

Parents and grandparents wedding pictures and table map (all table names were Australian cities, so the map was in the shape of the country).

We had a guestbook platter...it was a total hit.

The flowers were beyond amazing.

Each chair sash had our monogram tied to the back of it.

All guests received a hand painted Australian aboriginal boomerang.

Great shot of my table names...they were each named after an Australian city. The included a picture, a map, and information about the city's history. DH loved them.

Our sweetheart table...we were so happy we went with this.

Our amazing chocolate buffet! There were just under thirty different kinds of handmade truffles and chocolate covered things...we literally had nothing left at the end of the night!

My favorite part of our reception...the cake! My dad built the cake stand and had four offers for it before the reception was even over.

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. H!

For our first dance, we did a choreographed foxtrot to Aussie singer Lior's 'This Old Love'

My poor bustle lasted all but five minutes after this when someone stepped on it. It was all about the safety pins after that.

Love this pic of me and dad :)

DH and his mom.

BM giving his toast...it was hilarious.

DH and I later realized that we were so busy having fun, that this was the only drink either one of us had all night!

We both gave short speeches (he's shy but I forced him into it...I am extremely loud and outgoing and everyone would have been shocked had I not spoken up).

I am a professional singer so I surprised DH (and everyone else...only my mom knew) with a surprise rendition of Nat King Cole's L-O-V-E. I even had my cousin ready to toss me a white top had in the middle so I could spice it up with some dancing. It was awesome ;)

My name is Erin and I am a complete ham.

I think DH liked it though :)

I gave my bouquet to my Grandma. My Grandpa passed away two weeks before our wedding...I was so touched that she still came all the way from California to be there.

One of my bridesmaids is a fire dancer (she came all the way from Stockholm to stand up with me!) and did a show for all the guests at 10:00. It was amazing!

She is so talented!

Let the dancing begin...

At 11:30, we had a sparkler send-off. Coolest. Exit. Ever.

We weren't done partying by this point but our photographer had to leave so we decided to do the send-off and then come back. Once we drove off though, we realized there is no way we would ever have a better send-off than that...it was so cool to hear everyone cheering and singing as we drove off...so we just kept on driving. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
