What started out to be a small wedding has quickly turned into a giant (by our standards) extravaganza! We're getting married on the beach in my home town by the same woman who married my own parents. I'm super excited about this. Most of our friends are helping with the wedding. I come from a small island in FL. We're trying to pull this all out on a small budget. Thank God for all of our friends! I couldn't be more fortunate to have so many people to love!
Here are some pro and non pro pics from the big day! Enjoy! Sorry for lack of detail shots...I think my photog got drunk. Oh well!
His big sis
These were a big hit as part of the favors!

My mom and dad
I LOVE THIS ONE!
A KIND OF detail shot of the tent at the end of the night
My lil bro and the ladies!
Another sort of detailed shot of the tables.
Robert seeing me for the first time.
I felt ridiculous taking all the pics!
BAREFOOT!
My Fiance surprised me with a trip to Camden, ME this past summer. I figured it was just a little get away from the FL heat. Little did I know, he had planned to pop the question!
He proposed on a flowered footbridge that we stumbled upon on our way back to the B&B after dinner. It began to sprinkle down rain the moment he asked. How magical!
If you take any of my photos, please credit me. Thanks!
My engagement ring! It's an antique. He picked it out by himself. How'd he know I'd love platinum and diamonds? haha.
Here we are goofing around
Fiance and I
FI...and our cat "Henry"
mom, dad, me, fiance, brother, bro's gf
My fiance Robert on the beach where we'll be having the ceremony.
Our color scheme...lots of pink and green
Here are a few of our wedding site. We'll be married on the beach in front of it
.
We'll also set up a couple tents
Our friends own the cottages!!! So it's free! I think they're so cute.
Here are the STDs I made. I used one pack of $8 paper to make small strips. Then I printed the info on vellum ($2 total) from my computer.
Our invites are from rexcraft. They were about $130 for 150 of them. We also got pearl lined envelopes and matching response cards. Plus napkins and matchbooks. Total...about $220. We're attaching strips of paper around the middle.
They came in. Here's my DIY touch! I added the paper and ribbon (paper $12. Ribbon $3 on sale at JoAnn's. Enough for 150 invites)
I made some simple tri-fold DIY programs. The paper was $6 at Walmart and I printed them right off my computer. page me on the reception board if you'd like more info. Ours is wordy because we wanted our guests to be able to read the readings as they were being spoken.
I'm playing around with ideas for our embosser. I used the options at
http://www.wgpress.com
in microsoft paint to come up with these...
My mom and her friends made these sugar cubes for coffee at the reception...how AWESOME are they?
Robert and Hayley like DIY wedding stuff...
My mom is pretty...
My mom made this for us!
Henry hates DIY...
part of our centerpieces...
Here are our welcome baskets with nothing inside yet. I'll take more pictures when they're finished.
And my favorite...the zombie bride
I found these at TJMaxx for $4 each. They'll look nice on the cake table or something. I love cherry blossoms.
polka dot ribbon from Walmart. 52 cents a yard!
Thank you cards. $1 a pack at Michaels!
HUGE jars for the Martha Stewart drinks. $13 at Target!!!
I strongly suggest this wine. The bottles are gorgeous and add a lot of character. The wine itself has been given some great reviews. Best part...$10 a bottle! And that's without discounts you usually get when buying cases.
To rent: $50, plus supplies (about $25)
We're doing a fresh Italian buffet thing for food. Little to no red-sauce. Food is a big thing for us...dude, food rocks. Our bid for 150 people (and with help included) was $2,500.
You can't really tell by the picture, but this is a candle holder shaped like a tree branch. It also has a bird perched on it. I got it on sale at Urban Outfitters for $4. A lot of the decorative elements for this wedding have birds in them.
I'll be placing these around the cake. Some of them are pretty small, so I might place them directly on the layers. They were on sale at Urban Outfitters for 50 cents each.
Said typewriter...

Here's a tutorial for tissue paper peonies that I made. I decided to make them after reading an article from Ready Made earlier. One bride ordered a bunch from this site (
http://www.lamariposaimports.com
) for $3.50 each! CRAZY! I went to michael's and got 16 sheets of tissue paper from $2.54 and 50 pieces of stem wire for $1.24. It ended up making 24 of them! So $3.78 total! CRAZY! Here's the tutorial....
Groom's attire. Chocolate pinstripe brown suit and color ideas... His suit was $24 for the pants and $59 for the jacket.
Groomsmen...seersucker pants ($29.50 at Old Navy) with white shirts and tie ideas...
bridesmaid bouquets
I'm hoping for a bouquet close to this bride's. We're doing peony, lilac, and hydrangea.
The dress.... $200 from Ebay. BCBG.
My EBAY dress! I'm a low maintenance bride.
I was thinking about lacing up the back of the dress with one of these...

I just need help deciding! Ha.

My antique garter and "something blue".
Shower shoes. $12 at Payless! Sweet!
and a completely terrible photo of the dress for the shower...
here's a picture of the hairpiece I bought at an antique shop. I'll probably put it on after the ceremony. $10.
Said hat...
Said glasses...
Hair idea
Hair Trial
So I went in to get the trial done. The hairstylist wasn't really getting it, despite continued discussion about it. I'm sure I can work with her on the day of. The pictures look a little "phantom of the Opera" to me. Haha. Plus, I didn't get any photos of the front. If I can get her to lay off the poof we might be ok.
I totally realized that I can do my own updo. If I actually focus, I could do something cool for the wedding. Why should I pay $75 to get my hair done off island, when I can just do it myself? Am I right?
I made this flower out of tulle and beads. I may skip the pink and green hair piece above and use this instead. I used the same tissue paper flower plans from above.
Apparently I have 14 hundred veil options! Ha!
I used InStyle Weddings to make up this DIY make-up tutorial thing. Hope it's helpful!
