I loved how the pictures turned out and he and his wife were soooo fun and easy to work with.
Cake: Sweet Temptations Bakery Melbourne, FL Grade A+
Sweet Temptations is new which is probably why we'd never heard of them. We went to soooooooo many bridal shows and tasted cakes and never liked them. We get Publix birthday cakes all the time and really like them so we were probably going to go with that, but then we tasted ST's at the F.I.T show. SO GOOD. She was so nice to work with, perfectly executed the design for the cake, and their prices are comparable to that of Publix. I still crave that cake. Plus you get a free 1st anniversary cake topper, that I can't wait for!
Rentals: Planned Celebrations Melbourne, FL Grade F
The chair covers were put on so sloppy the legs were exposed on almost every chair. Linens were wrinkly and put on crooked. We called and they said they charge us overtime to come fix it. We sent a letter and VERY obvious pictures of the poor job they'd done, and never heard back. My mother also phoned and the manager never returned her call. If you are a central florida bride considering using them, please page me and I can email you the pictures.
Location: Suntree Country Club in Melbourne, Fl Grade D
This is a long story. To start off with their catering coordinator double booked the facility forcing another wedding into a downstairs dining room, and since we booked first we got the main dining room. Then that lady quit. I was so upset at first at the thought of 2 weddings going on at once, but the general manager assured me it would not be an issue. The morning of my wedding I walked in and nothing was right about the reception and ceremony space set up. We arrived a little after 9:00 that AM, being told the night before that new person they'd hired 3 weeks prior, would already have been there since 8:30 overseeing things. Everything was to have been set up the night before, and we were only ?dropping by? to put candles and place cards on the tables. This couldn?t have been further from what actually happened. There was one maintenance worker putting together the dance floor, and we questioned him about the setup, but he explained he couldn?t do anything about it, it wasn?t really his place. So we went to go find somebody who could do something about it-presumably the new person- but she still was not there and we were told the general manager would be in at 9:30. This is the start of our day. We kind of walked around trying to take care of things on our own. Mind you this is a group of women on their way to the spa to get ready for my wedding. General manager finally arrived and immediately the explanation we are given is that they did not use an updated diagram of the space to set things upl. So I had to give verbal directions to a group of my family on how to rearrange the entire room. Right down to the number of place settings at each table my family rearranged things. My aunts moved furniture. I could go on and on as there were many other small things that I felt Suntree messed up--like we paid for an open bar but servers weren't offering to get drinks. If you are a Central Florida bride considering Suntree *please* page me and I can fill you in further.
Dress: Solutions Bridal Gainesville, FL Grade B
They were very nice to work with and the store is beautiful. But I wished I'd shopped around more because I probably could have found my same dress at a cheaper price somewhere else. Which is my fault, they didn't do anything wrong, they just get points off for being very pricey.
