Amber & Chuck


We met while attending Salisbury University as Undergraduates. The luck of the Irish brought us together - as we met at a college St. Patricks Day Party that Amber & her roommates hosted. From that day on we have become inseperable and couldn't imagine spending our lives with anyone else!
 
Amber works as a Subscription Services Manager in Annapolis, Maryland and Chuck works as a Financial Analyst in Annapolis, Maryland.
 
We both graduated from Salisbury University - Amber earned three degrees while attending the University - her Master's of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Chuck received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Minor in Finance.
 
We're getting married on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club located on Kent Island in Stevensville, Maryland. Our ceremony will take place on the Beach House Lawn, the Sunken Garden & Terrace. Our reception will immediately follow in the Beach House Ballroom!

I sent these cookies to my Maid of Honor & Bridesmaids officially asking them to be in the wedding - My friends and fiance refer to me as the cookie monster so I couldn't resist!


This is the cookie that went to my flower girl! Who by the way told me that she would need a shovel to be in our wedding and when I asked her why she said well I have to plant some flowers! Shes 3 and will be 5 when we get married!

Ceremony Location - Chesapeake Bay Beach Club
A++: Our outdoor ceremony had to be moved inside at the last minute due to the weather and Chesapeake was very accomodating. They created a beautiful, intimate, indoor ceremony that was the next best alternative. They went above and beyond our expectations and made sure that the weather was the least of my concerns on our big day!

Cake Creator - Cakes & Confections Gourmet Bakery
A++: Cakes & Confections gave us the EXACT cake we were looking for. I took them a photo and they completely replicated the cake we wanted. They were on time - and most importantly the cake was the most moist, delicious cake our guests had ever tasted. Instead of freezing the top layer of our cake - Michael (head baker) is going to make us a mini top layer for our 1st anniversary - matching the cake we had on our wedding day!
 
Florist - Carolyn Bruckner - Cache Fleur
A++: Carolyn completely went above and beyond our expectations. She did an amazing job color coordinating with our color scheme and working within our budget. I would highly recommend her to other Knotties.

A++: Don and is wife Jill are amazing! Despite the bad weather on our wedding day, they worked with us to get the most amazing photos to capture our wedding. During the reception they played a slideshow of photos taken throughout the day and our guests absolutely loved seeing all of the pre-wedding photos. Within hours of our reception, Don posted a few teaser shots on his blog from the wedding as well as the slideshow they previewed at the reception. We can't wait to see the rest of the photos! I know we will be pleased.
 
Videographer - Matt Buerhaus - Buerhaus Design
A++: Matt has been wonderful to work with. He was wonderful at the reception - going above and beyond our expectations. When it came time to cut the cake we realized we had no idea what we were doing and he quickly and discretly gave us a quick cake cutting lesson so we knew what we were supposed to do! After our ceremony was moved indoors due to the weather, we had a limited amount of time to flip our reception room to serve dinner. Within minutes Matt was helping out the Chesapeake staff and sweeping up our rose petals - to move the process along. What a sweetheart! His video work is amazing and our guests loved that he had cards available with the link to where he will post our spotlight video. He expects to have our video completed by Thanksgiving - we can not wait to see the final product!
 
Disc Jockey - Jason Canaan - Quality Entertainment
A++: Jason kept the dance floor packed all night long. He was flexible with our timeline when it came to the father/daughter dance, bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc., and he played music that appealed to all ages. I would highly recommend Jason for any function! By the end of our wedding planning we felt like we had known him for years.
 
Musicians - Elan Artists
Musical Ability: A++; Customer Service: C- We booked a String Trio for the Ceremony/Cocktail Hour - Cello, Flute, Violin. Julie, the Director was almost impossible to get in touch with from the beginning, which should have been my first warning sign. We waited until a month prior to the wedding to book our Ceremony Musicians so I had very few to choose from. They were 30 minutes late setting up for the ceremony, which ended up being Ok because were running behind due to the weather anyway, but that still rubbed me the wrong way. They did play beautifully, but I probably wouldn't use them again, due to the lack of quality customer service.
 
Transportation - ZBest Limousine Service
A++: ZBest was early - which was important to me and we had a very clean, sleek looking limo! They worked with me and were flexible in making multiple trips on the wedding day to pickup our guests at multiple locations, at different times due to the weather. Our driver was Chuck W. and he made sure we had no worries about transportation on our big day! I would highly recommend them.

D-: When my Dad & Chuck picked up their tuxes they both needed alterations. My Dad's Vest was 2 sizes too big and his shirt was too small in the arms, and about 2 inches too short. Chuck's pants were 3 inches too short and his shirt was 2 sizes too big! Replacements were not received until two days later (the day of the Rehearsal which was very inconvenient considering our wedding was on Kent Island). I wouldn't use them again or recommend them. We used them because two of our groomsmen lived out of state and this was the easiest option to coordinate everyone. I did like that I was able to check everyone's status online, but that is about the only thing that was easy in the process of using them.
 
My Dress - Bridals by Elena
A++: Elena setup multiple fitting appointments for me to make sure the dress fit perfectly. About a week prior to the wedding she was still making adjustments to make sure I was 100% happy with the dress. Although they are expensive, I think the quality of their work at Elena's makes up for the cost.
 
Bridesmaid Dresses - Netbride
A++: Bill Levkoff Style 966 in Euro Sable/Euro Champagne. I ordered all of my bridesmaid dresses at the same time through Netbride. What a huge savings. The dresses were $128 - which was almost a $100 savings from the price quotes I received in the stores.
 
Hair Stylist - Mindy Whalen
A++: Mindy arrived on-time and did an absolute fantastic job on all of our girls! We ended up having more girls than I originally contracted with her but she was very flexible and ended up styling hair for 13 girls! One of my guests said that I was a "Walking Commercial for Aqua Net Hair Spray." Despite hurricane like winds and torrential rains my hair remained perfect the entire day. All thanks to Mindy. I would highly recommend her.
 
Makeup Artist - Nicole Palermo - Happily Ever After
A++: I told Nicole I wanted a classic, elegant, Grace Kelly look to my makeup and she did just that. My makeup was perfect all night and I never needed to touchup!
 
Wedding Coordinator - Modern Occasions - Tammy Hayman
A++: Tammy is extremely organized and detail oriented which is a "must" for my day-of-coordinator, especially since I am so organized myself. She made sure Chesapeake and all of my other vendors did exactly what I asked for on the day of the wedding. If problems came up that day - I had no idea because she never brought any of these issues to my attention. Everytime I turned around she was either assisting me with my dress, handing me food or a drink. You name it - she did it. She cleaned up and gathered up all of our cards, gifts, signature frame, flowers, table numbers, etc., and packed them up in my Mom's car so we didn't have to worry about doing any of that ourselves. I would defintely recommend her again!
 
Honeymoon Destination - Dominican Republic - Excellence Punta Cana Resort & Spa
A++: We stayed in the Oceanview Excellence Club Junior Suite. The food and service at this resort is absolutely amazing and worth every penny. We look forward to returning for our 5 year anniversary :)
 
Travel Agent - Jennifer Byrne - The Tropical Travelers
A++: Jennifer has been amazing to work with. She was very patient with all of my questions (believe me I had many). She worked through several pricing scenarios and even priced matched with allinclusiveoutlet.com. She was recommended to be by the girls on the Honeymoon Board and I highly recommend her as well.

Other Vendor - Save-the-Date Magnets - Pioneer Color
A++: I chose one of their pre-designed Save-the-Date Magnets and it was customized with my information. My Save-the-Date Magnets came with a mailing envelope and I had the option of including a Detail Card Insert with the Magnets, which contained all necessary travel information for my guests. They have been quick to respond and great to work with. I highly recommend them.
