Ceremony Location - St. Alphonsus Catholic Church
This is my husband's church that he attended grade school at. It is a beautiful church and made for some great pictures. But they just don't seem to be very organized and informative. We meet with the priest last May to reserve our date for the following June (the priest do all the scheduling, not a good idea). Well I called this past December to confirm our date, well they didn't have us on the books!! Thankfully no one else was down for the date and they put us in. Well since Father didn't have record of us for the last 6 months, we didn't get to start our pre-marriage classes until Feb, and we missed the planning meetings too, which tells you how to plan the ceremony, music, etc. Fortunately everything worked out, but there was a large lack of communication between

Reception Location - Bridgewater Place (The BOB)
The service at the reception was above and beyond my expectations. They got an A for the actual reception and wedding day. I had so many comments on how great the food was, how fast and prompt the service was and what a great job they did. We had an appetizer reception, which makes some things tricky, but they were great. They went to the tables and got drink orders, so no one had to get up, the chef came out to ask how everything was, and they set up the bar according to my directions (they weren't ready when my mistresses were there to set up). The room is breathtaking with floor to ceiling windows on half of the walls, and a great view of the Grand River and downtown. They did a really great job, and I was very pleased. They got the B for the pre-planning process because I had some communication issues with them prior to the wedding day. If you are having, or considering using The BOB, please page me I'll give you the details.! But al l in all I would! recomme nd them, but with some advice first.

Cake Creator - Kountry Kakes
Her cakes are delicious and very well priced. The cake looked great except I wanted a dark brown frosting, and it was a milk chocolate brown. But it did ruin the cake at all, it still tasted the great. I only had a some when we cut it, but on our first anniversary she will back us a small topper for free!

Florist - Gail Vanderlaan
Gail did an amazing job! I met with her 3 times and changed my flowers 2 times (I have a habit of changing my mind). The flowers were absolutely beautiful and just what I asked for. The centerpieces were amazing and were beyond my expectations. Only 1 problem, partially mine, I did not know I had to give her a deposit to hold the date and called 4 months before the wedding to confirm dates, well she didn't have me on the books, but put me on, even though she was pretty loaded. I highly recommend her, she has great taste and awesome prices.

Photographer - Amy Carroll Photography
I can't say anything bad about Amy, except she is too cute! She was spectacular that day. She made sure to try and get every picture that I wanted, did some fun shoots and withstood the heat bravely. She has an eye for unique pictures and she makes you feel at ease, which helps you look better. She takes a crazy amount of pictures and her prices are very fare. She is very flexible and even stayed past her 8 hrs to take pictures of the bouquet toss because we started the reception late. I recommend her to anyone that is looking for a fresh, fun and creative photos, just look at her website

Disc Jockey - DJ Productions
I was not impressed with out DJ at all. He pronounced my husbands parents last name wrong!!, which is the same name as ours, hello du! mmy. The music just seemed like something any! one coul d of done, there really didn't seem to be a lot of thought into what to play. If you want more info, please contact me

Invitations - DIY
Allegra Printing (3 Mile location ask for Sarah): I had my invites professionally printed and I am so happy I did ( I designed them myself). I was originally going to print them myself but because of time constraints I had them done. Their turn around time was phenomenal, they had them done in 3 days for me!!! They printed all the invites, reception cards and response post cards, plus they cut all of my paper. I will definitely use them again in the future for my printing needs. Michaels: I got the floral paper for my invitations and table numbers from Michaels. I love this store, they always have great sales and most often you can find coupons. I also got the flower petals for the flower girl, bubbles and place cards from them. All great products that all coordinated well. Paper Central Great selection of paper. I got my paper for the backing of the invite, the return postcard and reception card as well as for the programs. 50 sheets of 90lb cardstock for $4.80, great price, nice selection. I definitely will use them again for other paper needs. Stamp on It (29th and Breton Rd) I got my envelopes from them, and at 15% off. Another great place to get paper/cardstock from and envelopes.

Tuxedos - Men's Warehouse
We got the tuxes from Men's Warehouse at the Rivertown location. I got a discount at a bridal show, and they had a nice selection, although I wish it would have been a little bigger. But none of the guys had any problems with their tuxes and they all looked good in them.

My Dress- Lee Phillips Bridal
I ordered my dress (J! asmine C outure H338) from Lee Philips and had a great experience. They promptly returned my calls and answered all of my questions ASAP. They price matched my dress from another vendor , I got free shipping and a free garment bag. I wish I would of gone with my gut instinct and got the smaller size instead the size I was gently persuaded to order. I probably would of made for less in alterations. But all in all they did a great job and at a great price ($500 less than the salons!!!)

Bridesmaid Dresses - Ann Taylor Occasions
I ordered my bridesmaids dresses from Ann Taylor online. Before the dresses were available for sale, their customer service mailed me fabric swatches and were very informative. I ordered about 12 dresses, (2 different styles and a couple different sizes) that way my girls could try them on in their sizes. Returns were free to mail back, I did it in the store though and I got a deal on the dresses because of an online coupon. They make beautiful dresses, that my girls could were again! And only 1 of them needed it altered!

Hair Stylist - Design One
They did a great job with everyone, I didn't hear any complaints about their hair or makeup. They were very busy with 3 bridal parties all getting makeup around the same time, but they got everyone in before their actual appt. times! Angie did my hair, and has for the last couple years, and she does a great job, I wouldn't trust many other people with it. I am very picky about my hair and she did exactly what I liked. Lisa did my makeup and she is awesome. It looked sophisticated and like my everyday makeup just a little up graded though. I would definitely go back, just book early so you get the times you want , they are really busy

Honeymoon Destination - Excellence Punta Cana
We absolutely loved this place. It's an all-inclusive adult only resort. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are big and clean, the pools are fun and has a swim-up bar. There are 7 different places to eat, and not one of them is buffet for dinner, all sit down order off a menu, and the food was as good as you can get here. We took the helicopter ride back to the airport, pricey but definitely worth it. We got to see other resorts, beaches and a good view of the island. I highly recommend this place, if you want more info, please ask me.

Other Vendor - Amway Grand Plaza
We stayed here for our wedding night and the wedding party got dressed in our room. When I booked the room they were very friendly and helpful and were going to request a bigger room for us in the Patlind side (older portion). When I checked in the lady helping me was going to try to get me a bigger room, and she did. We got upgraded to a 2 room suite overlooking Monroe Ave (Virginia Suite 450). It was great, we had so much room to get ready and it was a beautiful room.
