We are hosting a destination wedding for 60 or so guests in San Antonio at the Hyatt on the Riverwalk. We're planning a weekend full of fun! Our colors are chocolate brown, deep rich red, tangerine and apple green. The ceremony will be held in the hotel's attrium. The ceremony is scheduled to start at early evening. I plan to have the ceremony area adorned with lots of candles.
I want to bring the flavor of the city into the wedding, we will have a latin guitarist play the ceremony music, a Mirachi band play during the cocktail hour. To complimnet the cocktail hour, we will have a green colored margarita passed. I may also have mexican wedding cookies available on each table or as favors. The OOT boxes will have a few Texas themed items inside.
The reception will move up to a ballroom. I would love to do a bogo light on the dance floor of our initials and possibly accent lighting on the walls of the reception. Not sure of the cost - but think it would add a bold impact on the room.

The Engagement:
We originally met online through Martch.com. I was skeptical of the whole online dating thing, but thought I would give it a try. On the morning I was planning to shut my account off, I recd an email from my DF. It was his sincere happy smile that instantly got my attention to make the fact that he lived 4 hours away from me not matter. We chatted constantly for 2 months and decided to meet. From the first moment we we met - it was love at first sight. On my birthday (3 months after the first email) he gave me champagne glasses with our names engraved on them. At the time I didn't quite understand, but later he told me he knew then he would marry me. We will be toasting with those glasses at our wedding.
He proposed to me one night we were at dinner; Sambucas a wonderful jazz bistro. I was chatting away about how excited he must be to be going to the Ohio State/Texas Football game (he's a Ohio State fan). He asked me if I were excited too..... Me, not the big football fan replied with a "if you are, I am" answer. At that moment he slips out of his chair on 1 knee and jiggles a box out of his pocket and shows me the ring and asks me if it would make me happy to marry him? He was so sweet and beaming from ear to ear. How I wish I would have had my camera with me to have the waiters capture a few pics.

10.27.06 - Today I purchased "THE" One. It is a sleek design by Miryam Couture in silk satin. Will add buttons to the back bodice. Love the sophistication.

"The" Dress - Miryam Couture - it's a bit big and the train isn't quite right as I am standing on a stool.

View front the side with a cathedral veil. Will do a cathedral veil. Trying to decide on one with a plain edge or one with delicate detailing.

Detailed view of the gethering in the back.

Hyatt Lobby - the guest's first impression of the hotel.

A secion of the hotel's atrium

The Ring - antique setting with sapphires and diamonds.

Love the color

Love the color - bouquet was carried by fellow knottie WeezerMonkey in her recent wedding.

Possibly may go all red for me and colors for BM.

Alter idea I would love to recreate

Interesting cake

Love this Vera Wang

I love this

Love the color

Fabulous cake idea

Possible centerpiece idea or for the entry table

Wonderful centerpiece ideas - I will definitely use square vases and love the orchids.

Coffee beans are a great filler with texture. One of our colors is chocolate brown.

Our invitations will look like this except in out colors: tangerine, apple green and chocolate brown. The very talented knottie "Smooshie" is designing them.

Our Save the Date - happy with how they turned out - just a lot of time.

The is the whole package - still designing a monogramed label for sending. 10.25.06 - Now that I have picked a dress.....details on decor are falling into place.....Here are some solid ideas.

Love these shoes

The clutch is a perfect size and the bracelet is a must.......

The flower/feather combo is fabulously sheek. Considering this for the reception when I remove the veil. I borrowed this from a fellow knottie - I am sorry I can not find who's bio it belongs.

This style could unconsciously add height to my 5' 1

Michaels Crafts has a perfect square vase. Will definitely do this with my bouquet.

Pier One has these for 1.00 - will scatter them everywhere

Lastly - thank you to all my fellow knotties who have shared their ideas, pictures and feedback to during the wedding planning process.

This is my bouquet

May use something like this on the tables for cocktail hour

Could be used on the guest book/entrance table

These are a must on some alternating table........would prefer squares

Accent lighting is an chic way to enhance any room

Another good example of a bouquet I love.....would like to add whispy feathers to the outside

I will go for the chocolate colored pin tucked linens. Hope it is in my budget for these type of chairs.

A monogrammed aisle runner is a must. Definitely a DIY project
