Jodee & Todd
Todd and I met shortly after he moved to Phoenix from Connecticut & I moved here from Louisville. We had our first date in October of 2005, and have been together ever since. I like to think the reason that we each moved out here was to meet one another!
Todd & I spend a lot of our weekends hiking the beautiful trails in the mountains AZ. So, when we went for a hike on September 16, I thought it would be any other day. We went for an easy hike at the Hieroglyphics Trail, which is in the Superstition Mountains, east of Phoenix. It is one of our favorites. When we got to the end of the trail, Todd started acting nervous and weird. He told me that he loved me about a million times, then asked me to be his wife! He totally blew me away! I never knew it was going to happen on that day!
If I've stolen your pictures, I'm sorry! Like many people, I started collecting pictures before I had a bio, and I wasn't very good at documenting where I stole them from. Just page me on the Kentucky board, and I will give you credit!

What a great weekend! UK beat U of L in football & we got engaged!
There are some great petroglyphs on the trail. We stayed there a little too long, and it started getting dark. This was the view on the way back. There were storms in the distance, and the sunset was beautiful.

My inspiration for the decor is the Van Gogh Painting "Starry Night".

The Church

We were so lucky to find this church. It's beautiful & a short drive to the reception site.
The sanctuary is gorgeous. I don't think much decoration will be needed.
The Reception

Our reception is going to be on the 2nd floor of the Glassworks Building. We really wanted a modern, artsy feel. I previously booked Mellwood Arts Center, but when I visited the Glassworks Building, I knew that I had found the perfect place.

Some other ideas for centerpieces
2nd picture is from AD52095's bio.
I love this set up for the placecards.
I'm digging this look for the placecards.
Todd & I are avid hikers, and we'd like to use this idea for the table numbers. Each table will be named after a trail or mountain in Arizona that we've hiked. This picture is from MrsAnayisnin.
I purchased 150 of these votives from another knottie.

We sent our save the dates out on April 18, 2008. We thought they were important, since 95% of the guests are out of town. The total cost with shipping is about $100.
The almost finished product. I'm so excited about these. I really love how the invites turned out.
I really like these programs, from ad52905.
The Cake

Some ideas for cakes... I'm still gathering ideas on this one!

Bridesmaids are Katherine, a good friend from college and Jenna, my roommate from graduate school.

Ceremony Location -
Crescent Hill United Methodist Church
So far the wedding coordinator there has been pretty helpful. They have some weird rules for photography, but I suppose we'll get around that. They did fail to let me know that they had a new pastor. I found this out from their website, three months before my wedding. I tried emailing & calling to make sure everything was still ready to go for our date. They did not respond for two weeks. I was actually very calm and patient about it, but decided to email the secretary and make sure the wedding coordinator had not changed. Everything seems to be okay and now we have a new pastor that will be marrying us. We're meeting him in September.
Officiant - Rev. David Warner
Reception Location -
Glassworks
Sydney and Allison have been awesome. I am looking forward to meeting with them in September.
Caterers - Naiman's Catering
So far Les Naiman has been good to work with. I kind of wish that I had negotiated a little more, but it's too late now.
Cake Creator -
The Sugar Woods
These cakes are amazing. I haven't picked out flavors yet, but I am very much looking forward to this.
Florist - Wildflowers
I haven't met with them yet. My wedding coordinator recommended them.
Photographer -
April Rietze
I've only met with April once, but really liked her. She's very fast in responding to my emails, which I appreciate. I am really looking forward to seeing what she can for us!
Videographer -
Dream Dayz Videography
Our package was only $550. I'm not sure what to expect, but mainly wanted nothing fancy, just a recording of our wedding.
Disc Jockey -
Hay DJ
Heather was highly recommended by both April Rietze and Sydney at Glassworks. I think I am just pumped that she's a woman!
Invitations - My Fiance! He's a graphic designer. I've nominated him to do our stationery!
My Dress -
I do I do! in Phoenix, AZ
I kind of wish that I shopped around for my particular dress a little more. By the time I went back there, I was just ready to purchase it and be finished. This is the kind of shop that doesn't allow you to take pictures and doesn't tell you what the brand or style number are until you purchase it. I'm pretty sure the price would have been cheaper elsewhere.
Bridesmaid Dresses -
Bridal Suite of Louisville
This shop is absolutely wonderful. I was in Louisville in May. My best friend & I called them on a Saturday afternoon to see their hours. They happened to be closing, but she said she would keep it open for us. We ended up purchasing the bridemaids dresses from them because they had the best price of the 5 shops that I asked.
Hair Stylist -
The Fixx Salon & Spa
I booked with Shea & this salon solely based on the reviews from the Kentucky board. He better be as good as you say!
Wedding Coordinator -
