Our Journey Begins!

We were married on March 24, 2007 at the beautiful Villa Christina in Atlanta, Georgia. The weather was amazing and we couldn't have asked for anything more. I won't say that the day went by with no glitches but I will say that the glitches didn't take precedence over the true purpose of what the day meant to us. My focus was on the fact that I was marrying one of the sweetest men that I ever have known.

We were fortunate enough to share the day with close family and friends that were there to celebrate the day with us sincerely. Here are some of our photos. Please enjoy and feel free to email me at kendallgordon@bellsouth.net if you have any questions.

Peace and Blessings!

Getting Ready

The Dress and Details!

Here we go!

The Look on the faces of your Bridesmaid and Make-Up Artist, Priceless!!!

My Flowergirl Destiny. She was in every shot that we were taking throughout the day.

She says that she is a professional flowergirl

Higher!

Some of the floral details from Carla. She is amazing. I was so pleased with the flowers.

I love the motion shot and the shadow hall shot. Shannon is AMAZING!!!

Formal shots by Shannon. I love the picture of my MOH Patricia and I on the couch. I really had a moment to sit there and reflect on the day.

My Darling Husband and the Guys! They were so GQ...

The Student becomes the teacher. My baby showing his new Uncle Mark how to tie his tie. Also a great shot of the suits that the guys wore. The colors came out so pretty.

The guys helping each other out!

My husband is really shy and hates taking pictures but it didn't show in these photos. I love these shots of him and the guys.

Damn he's sexy! I love this man so much.

Ceremony Decor

The sand ceremony!

The Beautiful Villa Christina. The venue was amazing and the flowers were so beautiful at Villa. I couldn't have asked for anything more. The grounds made the day more magical than I ever imagined.

Breathe!!!!!

Walking down the aisle alone was symbolic to me. It mirrored my journey through life as a woman and a mother. I have gone through allot by myself and I have been doing things on my own for a long time. I am now blessed with someone to share my journey and will always be by my side unconditionally. He came into my life midway and now we will take this journey together.

My son was very emotional after the ceremony. He said that he was happy and sad. He was happy because I was happy and that I looked so pretty but he was sad because he felt like he was losing his mom. Everytime I see this picture. I get choked up!

I love this intimate shot of us. We were off to ourselves on the bridge of Villa Christina

and we decided to say a prayer to God for blessing us with such a beautiful wedding. We are so grateful to

God for blessing us with one another!

We danced to Mary J. Blige's "I Found My Everthing". It was a long song but it was worth it. The words were so meaningful to us and the passion that she has singing the song is the passion that I felt while singing it to him as well. He was trying not to cry and wanted it to be over at the same time because he hates being the focus of attention.

"Baby, this is how you slice it" My DOC & MOH were freaking out

because the cake topper was broken, only where the prongs were that inserted in the cake. I just looked

at the both of them like "why are yall tripping, it isn't that serious". My baker did the same thing. The cake

was delicious. Thanks Cake Lady "Eileen"...

My son Ollie giving his toast. It was so cute. This kid has no fear for being in the spotlight at all.

He said that my husband taught him and his brother allot and told my DH's family that they

were lucky to have this man. To me he said," mommy you amaze me the way you walk down the aisle" and then he said, "I got nothing else to say".

My husband is not an emotional man. His mother gave the sweetest toast and he was very touched by what she was saying.

Can you believe this guy has never gotten a spanking? He's such a goodie two shoes!

This is my husband's baby brother.. Yes, baby brother. He was so emotional the entire day. He got up there and completely choked and didn't get a word out. It was so sweet.

Hubby and Mom's dance. She said that was the best dance that she ever had! It brought tears to my eyes.

Time to party!!!!

DH was taking both of the garters off.. "Didn't you listen when I was going through all the plays of the day for like a year?" LOL!!!

The Beginning! Thanks for Viewing...

A++Ceremony Location - Villa Christina
Villa Christina is a beautiful and modern venue. I fell in love with it the first time that I saw it. The weather was beautiful and the gardens were amazing on our wedding day.

A+Officiants-Reverend Howard Clarke & Pastor Johnny Murphy

Reverend Clarke was amazing! I am so happy that he was the officiant over our ceremony. Pastor Murphy is my aunt and I hadn't seen her for years but she assisted with the ceremony and it was so special to me.

A++Reception Location - Villa Christina's Restaurant

I was tired of seeing ballrooms and I felt that for our taste the reception would be nicer in the restaurant at Villa Christina. The staff was so sweet and attentive to our every need. The restaurant went very well with our decor and it was beautiful.

A++ Caterers - Villa Christina
The food at VC was amazing! Our guests are still talking about it. I just wished that we could have experienced some of the amazing cocktails. During this time we were taking our photos. We did a get a "June Bug" which was our green theme drink. Delicious!!!

A++Cake Creator - Eileen Carter "The Cake Lady"
Eileen is great and her cakes are delicious. This was one of the things that my FI was excited about. The cake was so beautiful and as mentioned above, it was delicious. We really got to enjoy it once we got back to our Suite at the W Hotel.

A+++Florist - Carla Duncan "On Occassions of Atlanta"
Carla is amazing and she has the greatest personality and is patient as HELL.  I only got to see some of the florals that Carla created because I was so overwhelmed with everything else. She created things that were amazing. She made the pomander for my flower girl and the ring pillow from green mumms and they were amazing. The bouquets were fabulous! I cannot say enough about Carla..

A+++Photographer - Shannon Wright
Shannon is amazing and I cannot wait to see how she captured our day. She was so much fun to work with. WE normally don't like to take photos but she made it so much fun! Shannon has so much passion for what she does and she is very creative. I am happy with her work already and have confidence that she is going to create some amazing photos.

A++Videographer - Svarga Entertainment- Rakesh Parmar

Rakesh seems very nice and professional. It will be interesting to see how he captures our day. I cannot rate his work yet but he was very professional and we didn't even notice that he was there. I am looking forward to seeing what he captured. Although he will have allot of editing to do because of the DJ.

We received our 3 DVD's and Rakesh did an amazing job. The things captured, we didn't even realize that he was there. 1 of the discs was not working properly and he quickly sent out a replacement. His work was great outside of the feedback during the ceremony as a result of our infamous DJ Chris Pennamon, and unfortunately he was not able to clean the noise.

F++ Disc Jockey - Chris Penamon

Chris is very nice and I was excited to work with him. However.......

Chris really upset us. He was late due to traffic, which we understood but it's like he couldn't get it together after that. He lost our CD for 3 minutes as we stood on the dance floor for our 1st song, he played the wrong music for the bridal entrance, he had his cell phone on near the speakers in which he said someone else had a phone and it was causing interference with the speakers, only to realize that it was his damn phone. The music that he played was not current for our age group nor did he play any of the old school party songs. The ceremony footage on our wedding video is awful as a result of his equipment not working properly. I sent him an email to express how we felt and he has not responded. That let me know that he was not sympathetic at all.

Invitations, Programs and Table Numbers - DIY
I used paper-source.com and textstyledesigns.com for the paper that was used on our invitations. They were simple but I was very pleased with the outcome and our guests that they were the BOMB!

A+Table Linens http://www.specialeventlinens.com/
I purchased chocolate brown table lines from an on-line company for $150.98 incl. shipping. They were very nice. Matte satin so they don't look like the typical satin runners. I will put the company info in my bio.. I cannot remember it right now.

A+Jeweler - Atlanta West in Douglasville, GA
They are so sweet at Atlanta West. Shane the owner even gave my FI a diamond lesson. We are very pleased with their service and my ring is just what I wanted. Alex is my regular salesperson and she not only adorable but she is so sweet. I love Atlanta West.

A++++My Dress - Julius Bridal
I bought 4 dresses only to find this one at Julius Bridal in NY. I cannot say enough about them. I ordered the dress 3/1/07 and they promised it would be here by the 15th of March. They were professional and rushed my order. The dress arrived 3/19/07.  I am so happy with this vendor.

A+++Bridesmaid Dresses - ABF Bridal

BM dresses were $99 plus tax and shipping. Valecia was one of best vendors. I was so pleased with the dresses. Her manufacturers can replicate any designer's dress. I was so pleased with the service and the dresses. My bridal party loved them as well.

A++Hair Stylist - Cheryl Atwell "T's Hair Creations"
Cherly is a South Floridian like myself and she has officially become my stylist. She is awesome and my hair was so pretty.

A+Makeup Artist - Alicia Brown
Alicia is an artist and very good at what she does. I normally don't wear any green eyeshadow but loved what she did for my wedding day make-up.

A++Wedding Coordinator - Day Of Coordinator- Valecia Watkins
V is so sweet and I have worked with her doing weddings and she is very professional. A wonderful person.
