When we were walking to the reception building, we spotted a luggage wagon so I jumped in and my husband pulled me the rest of the way to the reception. Only minor tire marks on my dress!
It was a little hard getting out of the wagon!
These are our programs and bells. The guests rang the bells after we were married and walking back up the aisle.
This is our table decoration. We also had small tea light colored candles (earth tones) set in the rocks. I'm not sure why this one doesn't have them. We got the rocks from Michaels and the tea lights from Ikea. The blossoms were ordered from our florist.
I hung childhood pictures of us on these willow branches that were in a large vase. To frame the pictures, I used willow branches from Michaels, cut them down, and hot glued them around the picture. Then I used twine to make the hanger. I glued the two ends of the twine to the back of the picture and tied a knot at the top. It was a lot of work. My husband was calling me Martha after that one!
This is our slide show that we showed in a concert hall that was in our reception building. It was cute because underneath the slide show which had pictures of us growing up, were the kids that attended the wedding. They were running around like crazy on the stage just like we would have been if we were kids. Kind of ironic.
Our guest book.
Our coloring books. These were a HUGE hit!
These are our favor boxes. The rolled up piece of paper on top was a cute explanation about why our favors were a Nutter Butter cookie and a Dave Matthew's Band CD.
Our cake was three layers. Coconut, chocolate and vanilla. It was made by Busy Bea's Bakery in Cashmere, WA. It was made by Bea herself!
GETTING READY
PICTURES BEFORE THE CEREMONY
This is the garden where we had our first look. It was a beautiful location. I was so surprised that my husband cried at the sight of me!
My husband loves to fish so we couldn't resist taking a photo with these fish statues!
Our thank you card.
THE WEDDING
In this picture, I leaned in to kiss my husband at the wrong time. He was trying to say his vows and he was getting all choked up so I leaned in to comfort him and give him a kiss. Then I remembered that I wasn't supposed to kiss him until AFTER the vows! Yikes! It was pretty funny...
Here we are! The love bugs!
The test run of my hair. I love the twists as it goes up.
The top view!
Here is my DYI. It was super easy and kind of cheap.
I bought the paper at Paper Zone. It's printable mulberry paper. Then I printed them out on my home computer.
This is our centerpiece. It will have lily blossoms within the rocks. There will also be more rocks according to the size of the table.
We will do something like this at our guest book table. Although hanging from the willow branches there will be pictures of my FI and I. Each picture will be mounted on card stock and hung with a satin ribbon.
This is our guest book idea. We will be taking digital photos of the guests to paste right above their envelope. On the cards that they sign, there is a faded picture of my FI and I. Each side has a different picture. One side says
For the kids. I had my students (3rd grade) draw the pictures that will go into the coloring book.
This is the cover to our CD. We are putting all Dave Matthew's Band songs on it. His taste in music is one reason why we met!
This is one of our reception sites. It is bigger than it looks!
This is the platform that the ceremony will be held. It couldn't be a more perfect site for us!
This was taken right after he proposed. He popped the question on a sleigh ride!
This is the sleigh we rode on.
My FI's tux.
My veil. It looks MUCH better on than it does here!
This is what our guests will first see when they come to our wedding!
This is our DIY timeline that is going in the invitations.
Our DIY register cards that will go in the invitations.
Cards for our guest book. Guests will sign them and insert them into an envelope in a photo album.
My wedding band! I"m so excited about this! The diamonds were taken from both of my grandmother's wedding rings.
This is the main diamond out of my grandma's ring that we couldn't use in my wedding band. I made it into a pendant. I just love it!
My FI's ring. It totally fits him!
My cat helping with my programs!
This is our cake. We will have other flowers than shown. The scroll work on the bottom will be similar but it will actually be the scroll work that is on my dress.
I'm going to attempt these.
I love this idea!!
Look who we got to play at our wedding!! hee hee just joking!
I made these flower girl shirts. The flower iron on and letter I got from Michaels. They were SO easy to iron on! Then I got these cute shirts at Target for $2.99 each! I hope they like them!
I also made a ring bearer shirt. I put his name on the front...
And ring bearer on the back. I tried to make it more boy-like by putting ring bearer on the back like a jersey.
This is what I finally decided on for the bridesmaid's presents. The bag I got on sale from April Cornell, flip flops are from Ann Taylor Loft, lotions from Victoria Secret and earrings from Macy's.
This is our DIY cake topper that I made.
Us in Chicago last month.
I made these pictures with the willow branch frames to hang off of the tree that will be at the guest book table. (Pictured above) I scanned in childhood pictures of us and printed them on photo paper. Then I bought willow branches from Michaels and cut them to size. Hot glued it all together. I will also hot glue twine as the hanger at the top of the picture.
Here is a recent picture of the stage where the ceremony will take place. It's so beautiful there with the river in the background. I can't wait!
This is what we will see when standing on the stage. Minus the tables and there will be more people of course!
I will walk out these doors and down the steps.
This is where our reception will be.
These are the place cards. I had to make a level stand for each one by putting a pile of hot glue on the bottom so it would be level.
My coloring book that I had my students design.
This is our guest book. I will insert a wedding photo in the front after the wedding.
Guests will sign the card (above in bio) and put it in the envelope. After the wedding I am getting the pictures from the reception tables developed and will put them in the middle of the page.
Two of my flower girls practicing for the big day!
Bridal make up trial.
My work shower. It was one of four showers I had!
WE'RE MARRIED!!!
These are the non-professional photos. Our wedding weekend was absolutely perfect! I couldn't imagine a better wedding. All the details worked out and even the forcasted stormy weather held out and it was bright and sunny for our ceremony.
Our rehearsal went well. Only one flower girl refused to walk down the aisle!
The night before the wedding we had a smores roast at the wedding venue. This was a great way to meet and greet all of our guests, especially since it was a destination wedding.
The art of making a smore!
I invented a Nutter Butter smore!
This is where the ceremony will take place. It is on a stage overlooking the river. Our florist did a wonderful job making this arch and wrapping the rope in the background with greenery.
The boys! My hubby is in the middle and his brothers are flanking him. He looks so handsome!
My neices were my flower girls. This is right before we all walked down the aisle. They were so cute! They kept hugging me and telling me they loved my dress!
My dad looking very dapper, right before we walked down the aisle.
My husband getting a last minute pep talk from his ring bearer. How cute!
The flower girls waiting to take thier turn down the aisle. I love the petal baskets our fabulous florist made for us!
Off they go! I can't believe they all made it down the aisle successfully! The petals they dropped looked absolutely beautiful laying in the aisle.
I loved walking down the aisle with my pop on my arm. I made an effort to actually look at the people attending my wedding as I walked. I thought I would be a mess, crying and blubbering during this part but I was strangely calm! I was just so happy that that emotion won out over my sentimental feelings.
Finally we are underway. I love the backdrop. Can it get more beautiful than this?
Listening carefully to the minister.
Reading my vows. There was NO WAY I was going to be able to memorize them. I was again very composed during my vows. My hubby on the otherhand cried all throughout his. So cute!!
Whew. The ring went on!
I accidentally tried to put the ring on my hubbys RIGHT hand! Yikes! He quickly stuck out the correct one for me to put it on.
Wipping the lipstick off after our smooch!
Mr. and Mrs. finally!
Making it official. Here's a good shot of our toasting flutes. Immediately following the ceremony we had a champaign toast. It was lovely!
Stealing a kiss in the background!
Here's a good shot of our table decorations and the place cards. It looked better in person than it looks here.
The flowers in the entrance to the reception venue. My MIL grew and arranged the flowers! They were perfect!
After our dinner, we moved to this building for cake cutting and cutting a rug!
The favor table. We had CD's in the basket, Nutter Butters in the boxes and a coloring book and crayons for the kiddos. Only about half of the gifts were actually taken. I finally started passing them out. I worked so hard on them I didn't want them to go to waste. It was also a good way to circulate around the room and talk to people.
My guest book. Not very many people signed it. If I had to do it all over again, I would have put someone at that station encouraging people to sign.
I hung childhood pictures on these willow branches. Again, this looked better in person. Each picture was framed with a willow branch frame that I made and tied with twine to make the hanger.
The coloring books were a BIG hit at the reception. I would recommend it to anyone having lots of kids at your wedding.
The cake cutting. I was hoping he wouldn't smash it in my face, hence the hand on his controling the direction of the cake. Later he said I was too beautiful to do that to. Awww...
Our first dance. I love this picture. Notice the look on my hubby's face!!!
I saved the last dance of the night for my dad. We danced to a Billy Joel song that is a lullaby for his daughter.
The end of the night. I FINALLY get to sit down!
Across the threshold!
The morning after opening a few presents at breakfast with our families and friends.
This is a good shot of my boque.
This is the cover of my completed guest book.
Each guest signed a card and inserted it in the envelope. Then I found a picture of them from the table cameras and glued it directly beneath the envelope that they signed their card in.
I made a page of just my DH and I. All of these photos were from the disposable cameras that were on the table.
I love the candids from these cameras. The quality of the pictures aren't great, but the sponaneous photos make up for it. I had to get creative with my cropping to make the pictures look better.
The end of a long day!
This is a good shot of my dress, tiara and jewlery.
My hubby taking care of me!
