This is probably one of my favorite pictures from the whole day.

Ring Ceremony -

In the spirit of love, Jay and Missy will be signifying their relationship by exchanging rings. Rings are the outward, visible sign of the invisible commitment you are making to each other. It is not an ornament or a trinket, but it shares the special message that you belong to each other. These rings are a symbol of the unbroken circle of love. Love freely given has no beginning and no end, no giver and no receiver, for each is the giver and the receiver. May these rings always remind you of the vows you have taken today.

Please take Missy’s engagement ring. This ring is the symbol of promise and intention. Now the intention is realized and the promise fulfilled.

Please place this ring on Missy’s finger over her wedding band to symbolize that the love that brought you together will always protect and sustain your marriage

I loved our Sand Ceremony

Today we are making a life-long commitment to share the rest of our lives with each other and honor our children as well. The family relationship is symbolized through the pouring of individual containers of sand; one, representing each of us, all that we were, all that we are, and all that we will ever be.

We realize that in order for the home to be a happy one, it is essential that there be love and understanding between the children and the adults being married.

The separate containers of sand represent our lives to this moment; individual and unique. As we combine our sand together, our lives also join together as one family.  Blending the sand together symbolizes the uniting of the children and bride and groom into one.

Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will our marriage and our family be.

Beautiful blended family

I was excited....

Vendor Reviews

Location    A+++

McGrath Garden- http://www.onlineweddingplanner.com/jdmcgrath.htm

Mary is awesome to work with.  A beautiful location!!!  I knew from the moment I first saw the McGrath Garden that this was where I wanted to have the wedding.  Everyone loved the location.  The grounds are gorgeous and beautifully kept.  I was so happy to be able to have our wedding here.  It was exactly what I had pictured.

Caterer  A+++

Ken Ballou

I had three top “musts” when it came to planning the wedding.  Location, music and great food.  I didn’t want a fancy dinner - we are more of the casual type.  Ken is just that.  He makes his own marinade “Ken’s Blends” and the tri-tip and chicken were wonderful.  He made wonderful salads and the appetizers were delicious (I’m told).  Ken is great!!!  I didn’t have a coordinator and didn’t miss one that day.  He helped keep everything running and worked with the rental company and other vendors.  He was the absolute best!!!

Rental - A

Ventura Rental -  http://www.venturarental.com/ - Heidi is awesome to work with.  She is very knowledgeable and has great ideas!!  I really had no idea what color linens I wanted but Heidi was able to look at my style and put together great color combinations.  She was very helpful and worked great with my caterer and McGrath to get everything delivered right on time and set up as I had asked.

Cake - A

La Starr – http://www.lastarrcakes.com/ - Starr was wonderful to work with.  I had no idea how I wanted my cake to look but she looked at what we had for decorations, etc. and designed a beautiful cake.  The samples were wonderful!!!

Florist - A

Shell’s Petals - http://www.shellspetals.com/ - Michelle is so easy to work with and had beautiful ideas.  She was very helpful and our flowers turned out exactly as I had hoped.

Music A++++++

Bruce Barrios – I can’t say enough wonderful things about Bruce.  He was the reason why we planned my wedding on a Friday night.  He was booked on all the weekends and he was the one I wanted.   I’ve been to many functions that Bruce has hosted.  He is the absolute best~~~~

Photographer A+++

Phototmakers - http://www.photomakers8.com/ Sue Bell – is such a wonderful lady.  I’m so excited that she will be our photographer.  Her approach is to create a story with the pictures.  Sue and her staff arrived early that day and made it all so relaxing and calming.  I was never in a rush or stressed.  They had such a calming effect.  I highly recommend Sue – she is great!!!!

Invitations

My wonderful friend Dyan!!!!  I was so blessed to have my friend make my invitations.  She worked countless hours and put so much of her self into the invitations.  I was so proud to send them out.  I received so many wonderful compliments on her beautiful work!!!

Dresses

Mine - David’s Bridal  A

 I loved my dress and received many compliments on it.  I was not hung up on getting a designer dress or having a spectacular gown.  I wanted something simple but bridal.  I didn’t want lace and I didn’t want big train.  I was very happy with my dress.  I didn’t want to spend a lot and the dress fit perfectly into my budget.  The ladies at David’s were fine.  I have nothing bad to say about that experience.

- Girls – J.Crew

I loved the dresses.  I wish I could have had them tried on in the stores but that was the only draw back.  They were very pretty.
