Our rehearsal felt so surreal. We listened to all the readings., read our vows, and went through the candle, veil, and cord ceremonies. Even the pianist/soloist was there so we walked down the aisle to all of our wedding music. It was like we were married at the end of it. And just like most other rehearsals, ours ran late (well, because it started late) so people were HUNGRY! Thank God we hired a sushi chef from Sushi Supreme. Everyone was so pleasantly surprised.
I gave the girls beach tote bags with matching pearl necklaces and different little things for each bridesmaid. The gift above was a Smart Ass thong that says, "desperate housewife."
DH gave all the guys beer glasses calligraphed with their last names.
We went to Germaine's Luau the night before the wedding. Everyone had a blast. I've been to PCC, Paradise Cove, and the Royal Hawaiian luau. I think Germaine's is the best in terms of food, price, and how much fun the entire family will have.
Both DH and I are big foodies. We're also both terrible grumps when we're hungry so we made sure that food was plentiful throughout the day. Before the ceremony, we had sandwiches, sushi, and lots of fruit/granola bars on hand. Since the bridal party was going to miss cocktail hour, we asked the Royal Hawaiian to bring some appetizers to the Royal Garden. To our surpise, the RH set up a mini-buffet for our bridal party. They were so happy!
I was apprehensive during our wedding plannig because we never got an opportunity to do any tastings but everything was delicious. Guests' faves were the adobo duck, the prime rib, and the bread pudding.
For all you knotties interested in the Ihilani, I've included pix of us getting ready at the Oceanside Deluxe Spa Room.

Our Readings for the Ceremony
First Reading - Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 103:1-2, 8, 13, 17-18The Lord is kind and merciful.
Bless the Lord, my soul all my being, bless his holy name!Bless the Lord, my soul; do not forget all the gifts of God, Merciful and gracious is the Lord, slow to anger, abounding in kindness. As the father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on the faithful. But the Lord's kindness is forever, toward the faithful from age to age. He favors the children's children of those who keep his covenant who take care to fulfill his precepts.
Second Reading - Ephesians 4:1-3
Alleluia - 1 John 4:12
If we love one another,God remains in usand his love is brought to perfection in us.
Gospel - John 17: 20-23
We liked the first reading because it talked about the strength and unity as a couple. The second reading was beautiful in that it talked what love means. The Gospel described to us how love unites Jesus to the Father, us to each other, us to God, and God in us. What we liked about the readings even more was that it didn't talk about the woman's role for man, how to be a virtuous wife, and that it was different from the, although beautiful, "love is patient, love is kind..." reading.
