... Getting Ready ...

We're laughing because I ever so gracefully smacked her in the head as she was helping me into the dress. Oops.

I can't remember why we were laughing this time-- probably because that's just how we are.

... Before the Ceremony ...

During our first encounter photos, some of our friends and DH's youngest sister ended up
watching us from the balcony. When we saw them I nearly started crying.

A majority of our friends flew in from out of town, so we were overjoyed to see them.
In the photo on the right, I'm checking out my friend's freshly finished tattoo.

Off to the chapel...

They did an amazing job with the setup.

The favors. They're custom chocolate truffles, and the emblem on the box is our family crest.

Here we are! I think they're looking at my shoes.

... The Ceremony ...

Our minister wanted to leave us at the front of the room while he moved toward the back.
The idea is to let the guests see us instead of staring at our backs the entire time.

He came back up for the exchanging of the rings.
We had our mothers hold the rings, which was particularly meanigful for us.

My best friend did a reading for us, a poem by Rumi. She's trying to breathe so that she can actually start reading it without crying.

We all had a hard time trying not to cry.

Obviously, I couldn't help it!

We're married!

... The Reception ...

This picture cracks me up. We were having the worst time trying to figure out the bustle.

Sergio was a ninja photographer. One minute we see him, and the next I'm asking DH, "Where did Sergio run-- oh look! On the roof!"

DH's sister is a bellydancer, so we planned a surprise dance set by her to entertain the guests. She was a hit!

Apparently we missed the cake cutting class, because we had a ridiculously difficult time doing it. I don't know why, maybe it was all the wine.
It was REALLY funny, though, and one of our favorite memories from the wedding!

The cake itself was divine. The bottom and top layers were almond with raspberry filling
and the middle layer was marble with chocolate filling. The frosting was buttercream.

DH hadn't seen his brother in thirteen years, and he came to the wedding.

It was such a thrill to sign the marriage license.
I'm not sure what's going on with everyone's expressions in these photos, but I love them!

This picture of my grandmother and brother cracks me up. They look like they're conspiring to steal the rest of the favors or something.
With my grandmother's sweet tooth, that's entirely possible! ;)

My beautiful best friend. She was amazing, helping me every step of the way.
We didn't have an "official" bridal party to keep things simple, but she was essentially my Maid of Honor.
