Super cute ringbearer and junior groomsmen. They were so well-behaved! They wanted to be in charge of our polaroid guestbook and did such a great job taking pictures of everyone and having them sign it.
I love this picture of the Rabbi & Priest before the ceremony
Ceremony details
We didn't have a budget for the florsit to decorate the room, so everything was DIY!
Programs I made. The first page is a picture of our reception hall printed on vellum - which matches our save the dates
We did all the ceremony decor ourselves (huppah, branches, candles, etc.) to reduce our florist cost
FIL built the chuppah for us and the top lace part was a tablecloth that was a wedding gift given to Matt's great-grandmother
I loved the candlelight!
You can see the initials hanging from the BM bouquets. They're actually christmas ornaments and I got each BM one of their first initial and had the florist attach it to the their bouquets.
Unity candle that FIL hand dipped dipped for us. He also made the unity candle that was used at their wedding 30 years ago!
Mazel tov!

About the proposal
~ october 8, 2005 ~
Matt took me to one of our favorite spots near his family's home - Mohonk Mountain House. It's an old victorian castle surrounded by gardens, hiking trails and amazing scenic views. We went there and took some pictures and then sat down to look at the pictures we just took on the digital camera and after clicking through them...surprise! there was a picture of Matty holding up a sign saying 'will you marry me?'
He also made reservations for the weekend at a hotel in Cape Cod - the Chatham Bars Inn, a hotel that we always dreamed of staying at. In fact, during each of our 4 vacations to the Cape, we've driven by this very hotel and admired it. And as if all this wasn't enough...on Sunday morning, Matt told me he made reservations for brunch at our hotel and when we get to our table...my parents and his parents were sitting there to celebrate with us.
It was such an unbelievable weekend and I can't believe he pulled it all off without me suspecting a thing.
Mohonk...where he proposed
and the Chatham Bars Inn, where we stayed during the proposal weekend

About the wedding:
Although it took us a whole 7 months we finally got our act together, found a reception hall, and set a date! Not too shabby for a bunch of slackers!
We're getting married on May 5, 2007 at The Mezzanine in Newark, NJ - built in 1930 and the home of the former National Newark & Essex bank.

The reception room:
Cocktail hour room and Lobby below not set up (ceremony room on the right & reception room on the left:
the bridal suite (used to be the bank president's office)
and last but not least....the bar! it was the teller window when it was a bank...
DIY Projects;
Engagement party invitations that I made. We had a cocktail party to celebrate with our friends - lots of fun!

and here are the thank you cards i made

Napkins and coaster from www.foryourparty.com
DIY INVITATIONS!
They were mailed in a chocolate brown box and sealed with a label wrap that had each guests’ name and address on it. The invitation is 2 layers and printed on metallic cardstock. The Invitation had an ivory satin ribbon and rhinestone buckle wrapped around the top layer. Silk rose petals lined the inside of the box.
Water bottles for OOT boxes

Sign for candy buffet
Rehearsal Dinner invitations - we did get married on Cinco de Mayo afterall!
OOT Booklet (went inside our OOT boxes)
Front cover - we had guests come from Italy, Argentina, and Israel...hence the Welcome in 4 languages.
Those languages also represent our backgrounds - Matt is Italian & Puerto Rican and I'm Israeli and Argentinian.

The hanging amaranthus in the tall CP is fake in these pictures, but will be real if we decide to use them.
And here is the tall one without the hanging amaranthus...which is what we'll probably do to save $ on the tall ones
